About Me

I'm a reserved, narcissistic, slightly neurotic, highly sarcastic neo-humanist whose desire to do good in this world is more often than not out-weighed by his will to do absolutely nothing. I'm an enigma, a pariah, and a paradox. Best taken in small doses, if at all.

My Interests

Playing guitar, playing piano, or playing drums whenever I can. Singing is one of my bad habits, and if you ask me to I will sing anything you want, with varying degrees of success. I also enjoy talking to people about music, philosophy, politics, the sciences or the arts. Or even something as stupid as why it would be awesome to be overrun by zombies, but why we would be fucked if we were attacked by vampires. Unless we were vampires. That would also be a pretty cool conversation.

I'd like to meet:

People with conviction. People that hate and aren't afraid to hate, or love and aren't afraid or ashamed of it. People who are caught up in what others think about them, or what society tells them they should be, may go elsewhere. Otherwise, for pleasant conversation, feel free to IM me on AIM, it's VedyThexy. Yes, I know it's a stupid name, I made it up when I was like 16. I should change it.

Music:

Avante garde rock music, such as Fantomas, Melvins, Mr. Bungle, Tool, Mindless Self Indulgence, also the weird experimental Pink Floyd albums, like Ummagumma...as well as hardcore metal such as Iced Earth, SoulFly, Brujeria, Iron Maiden, Dio, Megadeth, In Flames, and others. Van Halen, Poison, Motley Crue, Whitesnake. As a child of the 90's, I also like some 90's alt rock, like Silverchair, Bush, Foo Fighters, Our Lady Peace, I Mother Earth, Weezer, Incubus, and others. Most contemporary music is garbage, but I do like Coheed and Cambria, My Chemical Romance, the Postal Service, Mars Volta, Sparta, HIM, Muse, and 3. J-rock bands like Dir en Grey, Hyde, L'arc en Ciel, Malice Mizer, Moi Dix Mois, and Luna Sea are interesting as well.

Movies:

I refuse to put down a movie, because one of two things will invariably happen. I'll put down something like, for example, Labyrinth, and everyone will say, "OMG, I love David Bowie in that," which will annoy me because, I mean, no shit, everyone on here has Labyrinth on their list. Or I'll put down something like The Seven Samurai, and no one will know what it is, which will, again, annoy me...so there.

Television:

I don't watch television...it's a waste of time. Besides, Saturday Morning cartoons just aren't the same anymore since they've all been "Extreme-ified."

Books:

The Old Testament, back when god wasn't such a pussy...little christian pussies with their loving faggot god can go fuck themselves. I don't really believe in god, but I like the stories about people being fucked over by an omnipotent authority figure. I also enjoy socio-political commentary books, like People's history of the United States. Necroscope is excellent, and anything having to do with Cthulu will do fine.

Heroes:

My favorite are the disposable kind.

Chapter 11: The Spectre Spectator

Everything is funny from the outside looking in.  I've been laughing to myself for quite some time.  Everyone is responsible for their choices, as rational beings we really have little but o...

Chapter 10: Tomorrow died Yesterday.

I can’t deny the unmistakable allure of doing whatever I damn well please.  It would be so nice for a change to just lose myself in the ether, to float around and forget myself, to be surro...

Chapter 9: The Yellowed Letters of Love’s Past

She was such a lovely girl.  I can still remember the lip balm she used to wear.  It tasted of mangoes. She said I was noble.  She said so many things I don't deserve.  But I'm tryi...

Chapter 8: The Room without Darkness

Doublethink. A method of survival in our ruined century. I can remember myself as I used to be, and I see myself as I want to be. Those two archetypes inhabit the space of my consciousness along wi...

Chapter 7: The Grey Nothing

Oh, how people like to talk at length about the Midlife crisis.  But so often we overlook the mid-midlife crisis.  The coming to grips with the age of troubles, and leaving the age of innoce...

Chapter 6: The Pursuit

Friedrich Nietzche once said that religion is the opiate of the masses.  So, it appears that people have exchanged it for actual opiates.  And that, my friends, is what we call progress...

Chapter 5: The Grave-Shy Cadaver

It has begun to occur to me that perhaps I'm getting old now.  Everyday now I catch myself ranting about the way these young kids nowadays dress, or how they act, or that conflagration that passe...

Chapter 4: Love's Labor Lost

I spend my days in the laboratory.  I run constant GC/Mass Specs on cuticular pheromone compounds.  Prepping the extract, adding the internal standard, injecting, divining.  The read ou...

Chapter 2: the Dastardly Knave

Let's put this into perspective...a few events over the course of a lifetime have caused me to ask myself this question.  Let's analyze the series of events. 1.  Girl meets Boy. 2. ...

Old souls, new bodies.

The joys of a strictly regimented life.  7 am, wake up, shower, eat, punch in, smile at some old people with their old people smell, punch out, school, where I learn things I already know, then, ...
