Meeting new people in general: Just because I talk to people doesn't mean they are my friends (as many assume). I have close friends that I talk to daily, most I have known for years. To me, you're not a friend unless I have gotten to know you pretty well for at least a year or so. Thus meaning any future potential friends have to be in it for the long haul, not just some online thing because that's just a minor annoyance I'd rather not deal with. Someone local, possibly has kids, married or not, maybe an animal lover like me, or shares other interests I have.
Meeting Penpals: I have pen pals because I feel everyone has a story to tell and I like to hear them. My longest term pen pal thus far is 11 years and still going, he's the closest friend I've ever had. I've had friends in France, the UK, Canada, USA and Australia so far. I'd love to meet someone from Japan, China or South America that writes decent english (or I can help teach you english as I did with one friend from France that was in English studies courses for college)
The music I listen to varies depending on my mood. Majority of the time I prefer heavier bass or a wild guitar solo but the rest of the time elevator music or good ol' fashioned classical is just perfect.
Hubby and I curl up together and use our 5 disc player quite often, it's great to flip from one movie to another without interruption or even to snuggle and watch an entire season of a TV show together. We also do "Movie Night Out" where the kids get to pick a movie and we make plans to spend some time with them. Those are always fun too.
I support origionals. I'm not a fan of sequels, spin-offs or remake movies. I like a good spoof every now and then..but not a dozen in a row about the same stupid stuff. I'm extremely picky about movies. My top fav.'s are: Star Wars, The New Guy, Matrix (the first one only), the Notebook, 12 Monkeys, K-Pax, Butterfly Effect, and Dragonfly
Nanny 911, Supernanny, Trick my Truck, Southpark, Futurama, Simpsons, Family Guy, American Dad, movies on HBO, Fox, or Starz...I basically watch tv at night with hubby curled up with me because during the day if the TV is on then that means it's on PBS or Disney for the kids and the only show I like then is Charlie and Lola. ^_^
I am in an online bookclub and book review blog community. I'm a huge book worm. I was hooked on Beverly Cleary, VC Andrews and Jules Verne when I was 10. My bookshelf now consists of: Piers Anthony, VC Andrews, Anne Rice, Stephen King, Tracey Hickman and Margret Weis (Dragonlance series), RA Salvatore, CS Friedman, JRR Tolkien, Sidney Sheldon, Agatha Christie, Dean Koontz, Dispair Inc., Elizabeth Hayden, Dan Brown, and Erica Spindler. Other books I collect or browse are more religious based or philosophy oriented.
I usually average reading3 books at a time (meaning I sit there with 3 or more books and read them all at once not one at a time like most people)
I am a hero...you should be more like me....
