Whenever I'll go, you'll be with me... my first, though, and my last... though we'll depart in bitte

About Me

"Be quiet, you might piss somebody off
Like me motherfucker, you've been at it for too long
While you feed off all this insecurity
You stand in front of me and bite the hand that feeds
(Self-righteousness is wearing thin)
Lies inside your head your best friend
(I'll bleed but not for fellow man)
Broken glass, your fake reflection
Telling them it's all for something real
Don't forsake the words you speak
You've gone too far, acclaim
So how does it feel to know that someone's kid in the heart of America
Has blood on their hands, fighting to defend your rights?
So you can maintain the lifestyle that insults this family's existence
Well, where I'm from we have a special salute we wave high in the air
Towards all those pompous asses who spend their days pointing fingers
Fuck you
Be quiet, you might piss somebody off
Like the heartbeat of this country when antagonized too long
I'll be damned if you count me in
As part of your generous hypocrisy collecting enemies
(Tabloid gossip, we want less real)
There's no need for us to bury you
(Selfish agenda, once again)
Right this way, you've dug your own grave
Telling them it's all for something real
Don't forsake the words you speak
You've gone too far, acclaim
All the way from the east to the west
We've got this high society looking down on this very foundation
Constantly reminding us that our actions are the cause of all their problems
Pointing the fingers in every direction
Blaming their own nation for who wins elections
They've never contributed a fucking thing to the country they love to criticize
Excuse the obscene, ignore the untrue
Depictions we see, try and get through
Admitting mistakes can't hurt
I'm not the last but I sure ain't the first
Be quiet, you might piss somebody off
(Self-righteousness is wearing thin)
Lies inside your head your best friend
(I'll bleed but not for fellow man)
Broken glass, your fake reflection
Telling them it's all for something real
Don't forsake the words you speak
You've gone too far, acclaim.."
~Avenged Sevenfold, "Critical Acclaim"

My name is Dawn and I'm a 23 year old Vocal and Instrumental Performance major who currently goes to John Tyler Community College and planning to transfer to Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia in Fall 2008. Music is my life. It is what I live and breathe for. Most would see that as obsessive. Music is my light amidst all the darkness in my world. It is the biggest part of my life and anyone who knows me knows that. I'm always listening to music, singing and playing music. My music tends to define me as a person, among other things. I listen to so many kinds, including Asian Rock and Pop and even Country music. Other people's opinions don't influence my decisions.
I am currently engaged. So fuck off. Seriously. My Patrick is the most wonderful thing in my life and it took us almost nine years to get to this point... four years together and almost five years of broken hearts and failed relationships. He means everything to me... and we make each other the happiest that we have ever been. There was more that was here before today but I have decided to take the higher road in the situation and refuse to say anything negative further because that will be sinking down to their level. And I obviously have done that by letting those who would love nothing more than to see us miserable goad me into the things I have said. But despite their attempts, they will not, nor will they ever, break the bond that Patrick and I share and have always shared. He is truly the love of my life and all these years, I have been stupid to overlook it. But now our lives are coming together and it is so wonderful. He is truly my soul mate. That is the truth and I know no other.
Now... I'm to be married this Halloween... but that doesn't mean that I'm going to settle down and be domestic or anything. In fact, there are some things that people who grew up with me would be surprised to know about me now... but I'll just keep that to myself, hmmm? ;) Well, unless you REALLY want to know...
I am primarily Atheist before anything else. I tend to be drawn to the philosophies of Satanists but I don't proclaim to be one, although I am drawn to them as friends. Be that as it may, I try not to smash on anyone else's religion as long as they don't try to push theirs on me. I can respect other's beliefs, even if I see them all as fairy tales in the end, because it is their right to believe as they choose to believe. But I absolutely despise Scientologists and Mormons. I have my reasons and we'll not go any farther than that. Moving on.
I guess I'll end this with some random facts about me: I am a hopeless romantic and I LOVE love songs of almost any genre. I am extremely aggressive and quite opinionated, although I'm mostly introverted and quiet. I hate racists, religious zealots, and conservatives. I am a libertarian politically and I sometimes borderline on revolutionary with the passionate way I go off about the current state of United States politics and our International Relations. After I get my Master's and/or Doctorate, I'd love to move to either Kyoto, Japan or Cambridge, England. My main goal is to be a Japanese History professor, classical performer and/or a Music Professor. Besides a select few people, I couldn't give a fuck less of what anyone else thinks of me. I've always been that way. My idol is Yoshiki Hayashi. He's absolutely brilliant. I love any and all things beautiful. My best physical feature has to be my eyes, which I found tends to stop people in their tracks because of their shape, colour and 'innocent yet haunted' quality. I am brutally honest and I have no use for tact so if you're looking for sympathy when you've done some stupid shit, don't look this way. I don't have patience or tolerance for stupidity or ignorance. I believe that all forms of government suppress our basic human rights at their will. I despise authority for the simple fact that I don't think it's healthy to have one human ruling over another. I am a registered Libertarian and I absolutely love it. I am a LeVeyan Satanist/Atheist and I'm fucking proud of it. I am a music elitist and my music will always be better than yours. *laughs* I love any and all things Asian. I was diagnosed with Bipolar II disorder when I was thirteen years old... I struggle with it at times... but I keep it under control because I see myself as a strong-willed and strong-minded person. And although I am typically Goth, I'm still quite the individual... because there's so much more to me than the Goth. And besides... I'm really nothing that you think I am anyway...
Relationship Preferences:
What do you prefer when you get into a relationship?
1- Would you rather have a fun fling or a lasting relationship? Lasting relationship. An occasional one nighter or whatever is fine sometimes... but I'd rather be in a lasting, loving relationship.
2- What was your longest relationship? 4 years.
3-What is your favorite personality trait? Sense of humour. Individuality. Thoughtfulness.
4- What is the most romantic thing a significant other could do? Take me on a walk through a Japanese garden at sunset. Hell, take me to Japan and walk through a garden at sunset.
5- When you are dating someone, what is the most important thing to you? Trust. Loyalty. Openness. Romance. Maturity.
6- Do you like pet names (ex: baby, sweetheart...)? Baby and sweetheart are alright. Most others... are just sickening.
7- What is your ideal night out with a significant other? Going out to dinner somewhere decent and maybe to the Symphony. Or even a movie. Or just a long walk through somewhere beautiful as the sun sets.
8- What is your ideal night in with a significant other? Laying against them as we watch movies and eat pizza.
9- Would you be able to tell someone you love them, even if you didn't feel it? Never. I, unlike some people, don't take the words 'I love you," lightly. They're very powerful.
10- Do you like relationships that invovle serious commitments? Yes.
11- If you ever got engaged, how would you want it to happen? Not that I ever expect to be... but if I did, I'd want it to be beautiful and romantic. Nothing over-the-top though.
12- If you were engaged, would you want a wedding as soon as possible? Depends on who the person was I was marrying. If I felt we needed to be at a higher level, then I'd wait. If I felt that we were ready, then we would do it soon.
13- Do you like to talk about the future when in a serious relationship? Yes.
14- Do you prefer a sensitive open relationship or a strong silent type? A little bit of both. I don't like too sensitive but I do like when it's open communication.
15- When in a relationship do you have to have contact with your partner on a daily basis? Yes. At least through the phone. It doesn't have to be constant physical contact every second of every day.
16- Do you like public displays of affection? A little, like holding hands, hugging or a little peck, is alright. But uber-displays... ugh. I think not.
17- Is there anything you won't tolerate while in a relationship? Dishonesty. Unfaithfulness. Immaturity. Closed communication.
18- What is one thing that you value most in a relationship? the loving, trusting intimacy that the two people share together.
19- Would you ever be able to handle a long-distance situation? Sure.
20- Do you believe in moving in together before engagement or marriage? Yep. Have to know what they're like domestically before you tie the knot. So you'll know if you can handle living with them without killing them.

"Pick her up & pretend you're going to throw her in the pool.. she'll scream & fight you but secretly, she'll love it. Hold her hand while you talk. Hold her hand while you drive. Just hold her hand. Look her in the eyes when you talk to her. Protect her. Tell her stupid jokes. Tickle her, even if she says stop. Slow dance with her. When she starts swearing at you, tell her you love her. Let her fall asleep in your arms. Get her mad, then kiss her. Tease her. Let her tease you back. Stay up with her when shes sick. Kiss her forehead. Let her wear your clothes. Kiss her in the rain. And when you fall in love with her, tell her."
The most beautiful couple to have ever graced this earth: Johnny Cash and June Carter-Cash.
True love is beyond eternity...
"Every country has not only physical borders but also the border of language. Music is an universal language. When I'm writing music, I believe and write it. Regardless of nationality or age, in a heart strikes a wonderful melody."
~Yoshiki Hayashi
"I think people who can truly live a life in music are telling the world, 'You can have my love, you can have my smiles. Forget the bad parts, you don't need them. Just take the music, the goodness, because it's the very best, and it's the part I give.'"
~George Harrison, 1943-2001
"If you had told me everything, you would have known what love is... if you would have told me what was on your mind, I would have shown you the way... someday I'm gonna be older than you... I never thought beyond that time.... I never imagined pictures of that night... for now, I will try live for you and for me... and I will try to live, try to live for love, for dreams... and forever, with tears."
~Yoshiki Hayashi, X Japan's "Tears"

"Music expresses that which cannot be put into words and that which cannot remain silent."
~Victor Hugo
"I think I have more of a fear of success. I want to have a good time, I want to hang out with my friends and laugh about shit, I want to make music where I can just say 'Hey, check this out, this is crazy, have a listen…and anyway, what did you do today?'"
~Devin Townsend
"I started to see human beings as little lonesome, water based, pink meat, life forms pushing air through themselves and making noises that the other little pieces of meat seemed to understand. I was thinking to myself, 'There's five billion people here but we've never been more isolated.' The only result of the aggressive individualism we pursue is that you lose sight of your compassion and we go to bed at night thinking, 'Is this all there is?' because we don't feel fulfilled."
~Devin Townsend
"Can you imagine a fulfilled society? Whoa, what would everyone do?"
~Devin Townsend

My Interests

MUSIC. I sing, play, listen to, breathe, eat, sleep and love music with all my heart, body and soul. I love to read about intellectual things, like philosophy, psychology, history, and business.
