Singer, guitarrist, composer and arranger , was born in Havana, Cuba, in 1963.His debut in 1975 at a student's festival lead to his joining of the "Movimiento de la Nueva Trova" (New Song Movement) in 1979, after which he turned professional in 1983.
Along with his brother, EfraÃn RÃos, (regarded as one of the best Tres players in Cuba)), he founded "Septeto Raisón" in 1989 which grew to become one of the most revered traditional Cuban groups in the 1990s. Together, they toured continuously across all seven continents to more than 15 countries. As well, they recorded for labels and studios such as Egrem (Cuba), Sony (US), JVC (Japan), Kubaney (US), Alabianca (Italy), etc.
In 1986, Luis Emilio Rios composed "Que Manera de Quererte " (What a way to love you) which has received international acclaim and has been recorded by a number of Latin artists including:
Xiomara Laugart,
Grupo RAISON,
Albita RodrÃguez, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Victor Manuelle,
Omara Portuondo, Dioni Fernández, Gabino Pampini,
Angel Bonne, Carlos Cuevas, Victor Monge "Serranito",
and many others. This composition was also used as the soundtrack on the movie "The Specialist" starring Sylvester Stallone & Sharon Stone (musical production by Emilio Estefan).
At present, living in Canada, Luis Emilio is member of the Latin - Jazz Group "BOMBA"
