cuando tenia 8 anos recuerdo que mi hermano me llevo a un bar a tocar el bongo con su banda,7 anos despues me regalo mi primer bongo, y desde ese momento supe que la percunsion era mi vida y con el tienpo me di cuenta de que es una de las mas exitante manera de espresar la musica es un lenguaje tan original y tan africano, que las preguntas y respuestas de la vida las consigues tocando la percussion. Band Members: Luis "El Pana" is a Latin percussionist and modern drummer with a broad palette of styles and genres. He was born in 1978 into a family of musicians in Guatire, Venezuela, which is also home to many famous South-American musicians.At the age of 15, he commenced his formal studies in music at the renowned Alexander Livinalli School of Percussion where he studied for three years. Later, he went on to study for two more years with the famed Vladimir Quintero of Guaco at the CEA (Centro de Educación Artistica) Andres Eloy Blanco where he embarked on intense studies in Latin percussion from Cuba, Brazil, Puerto Rico, Peru and Columbia.By the age of 19, El Pana was playing with his first salsa group, La Boemia, which lead him to Gaiteros de Copacabana, where he played Gaita (traditional Venezuelan music) for three years. It wasn't much time before the demand for El Pana grew - he has played with Melodygaita, La Novena Salsa, Guanzinca Zuliana, Latin Gaita, Esensia Latina, Rul Chirinos, Grupo Tema, Tito Orquesta, Parranda de Guatire, Jazz Venezolano Cachamay, Cuero Caliente, and many other South-American groups and musicians.El Pana has had extensive experience playing many unique genres and styles on numerous different percussion instruments including congas, drums, bongos, timbales, guira, tambora, repinque, surdo, tarola, pandeiro, cuica, agogo, cajon, djembe, maracas, cumaco, clarin, culo e puya, etc. In 2004, his expertise in Latin percussion and modern drumming lead him to Mexico for two years where he played salsa, rock, pop, ska and traditional Latin American music with many groups including La Rumba Latina, Pulso, Kocodrilos, and Tanbomachay.Through knowledge and experience, El Pana consistently delivers a stellar performance; he has won the respect of many notable musicians including Latin Jazz.Background de http://www.joombly.com/
