About Me
__ Born with a natural talent, and an eye for the arts, Brea Joseph has had music in her blood since birth. The second daughter of a singing/ songwriting father and granddaughter to a gospel singing grandmother, Brea naturally made her way into leading roles for San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter Theatre by the early age of 8.
__As time went on, she tried print and runway modeling which still pays the bills, for companies like L'oreal, Baby Phat, Sean Jean,Wella, DKNY,Rocca Wear and more. She also did and still is doing (SAG) work for numerous TV shows and commercials like , Entourage, Sprint, NYPD Blue, Allstate and Lincoln Mercury, and Toyota just to name a few. At the tender age of 20, she started pursuing her dream and career as a singer and songwriter. Though she had wrote songs for many years, she never thought her words could felt through fans like they are these days. She started off with studio work, writing, and singing hooks for various bands and groups. She's worked with artist such as Media Lab, Killah Priest of Wu Tang,Exile,Roc of Boot Camp Clik,Blu,Aloe Blacc, Abstract Rude, Dannu of Visionaries, Sha Dula and currently, Deep Rooted (Mr. Brady, J.O.H.A.Z, Brea, DJ Artistic, Urban Dynamics Crew=Cesee & Boos Blak), and MANY more.
__Deep Rooted has opened up for music artists such as Public Enemy, KRS-ONE, The Roots, Common, Poncho Sanchez, Kurtis Blow,Lupe Fiasco , Boot Camp Clik, The San Diego Music Awards, in which they recieved best hip hop album for in 2006 & 7 and The Vans Warped Tour, just to name a few from a long list. Oh, and if you want to check Deep Rooted out on your current video game console, try NBA 2K6&7, and the XBOX commercial for the game.In 2006 they also received the outstanding performance award at the Urban Network conference. Influencing Brea is an eclectic, stylish music mix with Prince, Otis Redding, Mariah Carey, Gwen Stefani, Anita Baker and Lauryn Hill, rounding out her top six. There are many, many more. But because there is no particular type of music she like more than another, other than it being considered “great music†to her, she tries to portray that same likeness and energy through her music and style. Brea writes and engineers all her own material, writing about life experiences that everyone can relate to, while keeping it original yet beautifully unique.
