I am an explorer, a seeker a writer and now a doctoral student (Ph.D., Psychology) whose current area of study is the psychology of disordered eating (ED) behavior. I am focused on the discovery of complementary and alternative treatment modalities for such. Graduate school will afford me the opportunity to further the psych / yoga-based workshop curriculum I developed in 2004 and to launch research initiatives with my target population. Through this mind-body research I am developing a multi-dimensional ED and obesity treatment approach that can be easily duplicated to serve the increasing numbers afflicted with these health and behavioral issues. The goal of the program is to restore the health and quality of life of participants.
I am a yogini and a teacher of yoga studied in the Kripalu Yoga tradition (Jai Bapuji!). I love many forms of the various schools of hatha yoga that are burgeoning in the West today. Outside of jolting the grey matter (which has literally consumed the last few years of my life) movement is pivotal to my existence. I am, with great enthusiasm, looking toward a period in which I will be once again flowing in life's rhythmic groove through:

As long as it's movement, motion, it's OK with me and it's EXACTLY what I need right now after a long immersion in my self inflicted "way-too-many-things-at-one-time", Type A, over-committed lifestyle.
