Saturday, June 9, 2007 Urban Impact Center opened its doors to offer young adults a spiritual arts venue to project their faith and spirituality. The center provides a positive environment for young adults to share their artistic talents with peers and the community — free of charge.
Talented young artists perform in an Artist Showcase, as they are invited to do throughout the year at the center. Local artists include vocalists, spoken word artists, dancers, comedians and instrumentalist, to name a few. Motivational speakers are also invited to address the audience.
Urban Impact is a non-profit organization dedicated to inspiring young people to make positive life choices through community involvement and activities aimed at strengthening their spiritual base. Their goal is to provide young adults with positive, uplifting messages through their own artistic expression.
The Spiritual Arts Venue is held every second Saturday of the month from
3pm to 5pm at The Soundstage located at 1323 S. Fifth Avenue (north of
I-290)in Maywood, IL. Artistic Showcase events are led by a team of
youth volunteers and adult mentors.
