KeithElite of The Rukus
For those that don't recognize me from back in the day, I assure you its me, ha... '97 was a long, long, time ago... I was born in Yonkers, New York. I've lived all over the place but I'm reppin Okinawa, Japan (1992-1997), Kadena High Class of 1997. I attended the University of West Florida in Pensacola, FL from 1997-2001, graduating in April 2001 with a B.A. I'm currently chillin in the Tampa Bay area right now. I've been down here in Tampa since 2002. I've been working for an insurance company for about 3 years now, its lame but it pays the bills. That's my daytime gig. My nighttime gig is music (See Below...) To all my Oki people out there, much love to you all. I'd love to hear from everybody. We are all one big family whether all of us got along with each other back then or not. I hope everyone is doing well. I had the chance to go back to Oki a couple of summers ago (June 03) and it was crazy to realize how different but cool life was, growing up there. If anyone is ever gonna be near Tampa in the future, let me know so we can get together and get crazy. To all the people I don't know out there, especially those in the Tampa Bay area, allow myself to introduce myself. Talk to me. I'm always around.I've been rhyming for a long time now. Music is everything. I'm kind of mad at some parts of hip hop right now. There's alot of b/s in the music industry and alot of false realities continuously are allowed to be spread to the youth of america through mainstream hip hop, strictly because it gets a few people rich. Its a sad thing but definitely true. These multi-million dollar rappers have the opportunity to speak to the masses, which most people will never get, and they rarely say anything with relevance. They don't all have to be political analysts or anything, but it wouldn't hurt to switch it up every now and then and say something positive. Mr. Gangsta Rapper, do you have anything else to say? We already know how rich and hard you are, tell me something new, anything... It must just be me because someone is out there buying those millions of records, while the thinkers in the underground stay true to themselves and the music, while struggling to get heard. Take a look around though, hip hop is changing, and people are starting to realize what life is really about. Technology has given so many people, including me, an opportunity to speak their minds through music and sites like this allow them to be heard. There are so many good musicians out there if you truly look. (Check the influences portion of this page to see some of my Tampa peeps...) Open your eyes, your ears, and your minds, and you can see the light. Its always shining.
