" . . . and the people lamented because the Lord had smitten many of the people with a great slaughter." - I Samuel 6:19
Jesus loves you.I've been a music geek for a long, long time. I started formal training at 9 years old. I played trumpet in the school band and sang in the chorus and later on joined my first rock/metal band, Aladdinsane in 10th grade. I've worked as a singer professionally ever since.
At 15 years old, we had the best times of our lives together and didn't realize just how far ahead of the curve we actually were. Overlord was the next phase of that band, and we played a lot of Judas Priest, Maiden, Scorpions, and a lot of other British Metal.
I moved to Florida at age 19, where I landed a stint with Axis, a top 40 rock band. We played everything; Supertramp, Rainbow, Styx, Pat Benatar, Bon Jovi, Springstein, ZZ Top, whatever was on the charts. Axis split up and I was referred to another band, Act Of God, who wrote and recorded their songs in an old farm house.
I came back to Pittsburgh at age 21 and wrote a slew of songs with Rob Deaner, the ex-drummer of Overlord. I went to Broadcasting school, and took Audio Engineering Techniques classes and over the course of 15 years became a music producer.
313 was my next endeavor. We were a metal band with a sense of humor. "The Warrior Song" and several others made it into regular rotation on K-Rock and on the syndicated program Metal Shop.
After 313 was Dr. NO, a rock vocal band. We played mainstream rock with lots of vocal harmony like Queen, Styx, Beatles etc. We had a manager and a ghost writer/producer who helped us become a top draw in Pittsburgh, second only to Triple-X who eventually hired me.
I had a very successful run with Triple-X which was the top drawing metal band in the Pittsburgh Tri-State for about 5 years. We put out the first independantly produced CD in Pittsburgh entitled "Bang". We received awards for Best Metal band for a couple years running, and I was voted best vocalist in several readers polls in the local 'zines.
Triple-X was the first local band to receive a national product endorsement. We were chosen amongst some 600 bands to be sponsored by Annheiser-Busch/Budweiser.
Although that band did exptremely well,
I decided to stretch my wings a bit and I finished a record with Jim Dofka and friends and started Psycho Scream. Our music is
classical progressive power metal. Jim and I wrote together and
did demos for a second CD and finally recorded all the tracks
with the band upon the return of Brian Mihalovich who had taken
some time off from the group.
"VI2" is still on the shelf though. All
the parts are recorded and we may eventually someday get it
mixed and mastered, but for the meanwhile it's unavailable.
While Brian was on hiatus Jim did some
shopping for new bandmates and in the process was contacted by
Death's bandleader Chuck Schuldiner who auditioned me and Rob
Halford for his new band Control Denied. We recorded "The
Fragile Art Of Existence" at Morrisound in Tampa.
Soon afterward, Chuck was diagnosed
with a rare brainstem cancer, and he battled for nearly 2 years before losing his life.
While praying for Chuck to recover, I was asked to record with Pharaoh, with whom I sang on 2 Iron Maiden Tributes before we were signed with Cruz Del Sur in Rome, Italy.
Our first CD, "After The Fire" was the label's maiden flight. We released "The Longest Night", our second on Cruz Del Sur in 2005. Both CDs have gotten great response from all the major metal publications and webzines, and the fans love us to death. It's an awesome feeling to make people that happy. The next CD is tentatively entitled "Be Gone" and is due out in late 2007. Check out The Official Pharaoh Wesite and read reviews like this one

O.K., So now you know what I am and
what I do, but who I am when I'm not a metal singer is really
what this page was intended to be.
I spend much of my spare time working on music and web stuff and fixing the computer and gear here, and occasionally I take a weekend off from my normal 18-36 hour workdays and I relax.
I love going places and walking, especially out in the woods or going boating and fishing and stuff like that. I like swimming, diving, going out to pubs and playing darts and get-togethers in or outdoors. Volleyball, Horse shoes, Bocce, and Softball are the sports I enjoy particpating in. I'm not much for watching a bunch of sweaty men play sports, although when the Steelers are on a winning streak, they have my attention.
Thanks For Stopping by and being a friend. I hope to hear from you soon and often.
