About Me

The ‘Canterbury Scene’ of today incorporates many different genres of music and creative arts which are hidden from the public eye by the City’s lack of performance venues. Through many different forms, our collective has been a platform for Canterbury’s thriving underground music scene over the last five years.
Over the past few years Furthur Productions have built up a strong reputation for creating high standard professional events, with great vibes and decent music.
Our live music stagedebuted at the Lounge on the Farm Festival in July 2007. The tented structure opens out into a garden area designed to act as a surrounding amphitheatre where people can enjoy the music from outside or simply soak up the atmosphere. The Furthur Tent comes complete with it's own locally sourced organic cafe, The Mole Hole. Anyone who has sampled their food will definately sing the praises!!
Our musical line up focuses on two main factors, variety and quality. Previous events have featured anything from afrobeat, jazz, fusion, world music, folk, reggae, electronica, progressive rock, hip hop, funk and everything inbetween. We make sure that the energy progresses smoothly throughout the day starting with laid back sunshine music and ending on the dancefloor.
After the amplified music finishes, we've been known for our acoustic jam sessions where members of the audience and playing musicians alike get involved to drum up a racket...
Please contact us if you are interested in hiring our services for an event or private function. We can provide anything from our full stage, to decoration, The Mole Hole Cafe or Furthur Soundsytem our travelling DJ facility.

Influences:
‘Furthur’ the enigmatic destination painted on the front of the psychedelic bus who’s occupants, could be given credit for some of the most significant changes in 20th century culture. Author Ken Kesey and his band of Merry Pranksters were at the forefront of the 1960’s psychedelic movement that was, and is still responsible for some of the greatest music ever written.
Canterbury has a renowned musical history strongly associated with this same movement, dubbed the ‘Canterbury Sound’ famous for late 60’s early 70’s avant-garde progressive rock, infused with jazz and psychedelia, made famous by such pioneers as Soft Machine, Gong, Caravan and Hatfield and the North.
It is such heritage that has inspired Furthur Productions.
