About Me

Mairt loves to play and write dance music. He used to sneak into clubs in Glasgow at the age of 16 just to hear DJs like Slam spinning their wares. After getting hold of a pair of technics, he progressed onto a music computer and keyboard."Production has always interested me, listening to how a tune sounds, what its eq is, depth and spread - all quite geeky really" says Mairt. DJing took Mairt to play slots in Ibiza, Miami and the UK throughout the 90s. Writing music has since become the focus for him. "The last DJ slot I spun at was in Edinburgh, Scotland where I played out on CD-Rs, tunes I had remixed at my studio at home, into new versions. That was amazing - the crowd was into it and there were funny looks on the other DJ's faces - you could tell they had the same tunes - just not these versions."How come Trance Music ?"I grew up on a diet of house, the likes of Marshall Jefferson and Kevin Saunderson, DJs like Graeme Park. As the nineties ploughed on, I got more and more switched on to progressive house and trance music. A big influence was definitely Sahsa and Digweed. Thesedays I really appreciate the stuff people like Armin Van Buuren are doing."
