Hanks Dream Band featuring Xeal

Hanks Dream Band is a concept formed by Bassist Hank. Hank was born in Harlem, New York and raised in the South Bronx. Late in High School Hank began as DJ for local partys and fashion shows with a friend of his who introduced him to the Bass Guitar. Soon Hank was hooked and started playing with local bands. Louis Johnson, Jaco and Stanley Clark were his major influences and motivators on the Bass Guitar. Hank was invited by Keyboardist Cecil Hodges to play in a local Funk/R & B New York based group Eternity, which played in clubs throughout the city. The group opened shows for Harold Melvin and the Bluenotes and The Crown Heights Affair to name a couple. In the early 80's Hank played with Grammy Nominated Mt. Vernon N.Y based Jazz Keyboardist Bob Baldwin and Guitarist Phil Hamilton (Anita Baker) and collaborated with Bob on some of his pre-recorded arrangements. During that same period Hank played Bass on Lenis Guess's R & B album titled "I Keep Coming Back For More" produced by Lenis Guess Productions&nbsp on Guess Records in New York City. Hank left New York and spent some time in Houston and was invited to play Lead Guitar for Winston Brooks (Bass, Vocals) and the Wisdomaires and recorded two Gospel singles with them. Hank later joined the military and worked on independent Jazz, Funk and R & B projects in Southern California and England with local bands. Hank also played Bass on occasion for San Antonio based Contemporary Christian Gospel Music Keyboardist/Writer/Arranger Dave Bell and the Lion of Judah Band in the Mid 90's. Hanks Dream Band formed in 2006 with local San Antonio Keyboardist Johnny Castro adding his flavor and creativity to the sound with his blend of various music styles . Johnny Castro helped co-found H.D.B. Music Production in 2007 as Writer/Musician/Producer. H.D.B Music Production was created to present a diverse variety of music to the listener with freedom of expression through sound. Hanks Dream Band is currently working on a Jazz Fusion CD which will be produced by H.D.B Music the release date TBA. Enjoy the gift of music!
