There are so many things in life I enjoy. Heres a list of everything that readily comes to mind:
-[feel good] music
MUSIC IS LIFE. LIVE A FUN ONE. LISTEN TO SKA.
-friends... both new and old
-going to shows and travelling
-swing dancing with Bobby... haha cuz I can't otherwise since I suck
-rude boys and fellow rude girls =)
[note- please do not send me messages telling me how a "rude boy" can ONLY be a Jamaican gangster from the 1960s and that I'm misusing the term- words evolve, dipshit]
-staying as busy as possible (so there isn't time to focus on the absurdity and overall meaninglessness of life =P)
-meeting new people (at shows, at work, on the streets, from the internet, whereva)
-philosophy (particularly existentialism)
-partying (especially with my QD crew + customers)
-gluttony/hedonistic lifestyles (disregarding the clear consequences)
-labcoats....mmmmm
-scrabble (I will kick your ass!)
-movies (w/ preference for ridiculous comedies)
-George Carlin (although I prefer his older less morbid stuff even though I understand where he's coming from)
-scratch off lottery tickets
-men in their 40s who are batshit insane because thats what I feel like on the inside
-body art (tattoos/piercings)
-riding on the back of David's motorcycle
-rollercoasters/amusement parks
-collecting black and white checkered things
-two tone fashion/art (Mark Plaid is rad!)
-being overly obnoxious about my love for ska music =P
-thrift store shopping
-playing my alto saxophone
-general silliness and irrational happiness
-Those who share my passion for ska music
-People with good intentions
-A boy who can teach me how to swing dance... for REAL.
Ska is my first true love... but I also dig punk, swing, reggae, rockabilly, dub, rocksteady, 50s rock n roll, etc.
I am a fan mostly of ridiculously cheesy movies, with an occasional exception here and there... Back to the Future, Swingers, Pootie Tang, Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, The Blues Brothers, Old School, Nothing, Shaun of the Dead, What the Bleep Do We Know?, Swing Kids, Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle, Boondock Saints... I don't know if they count as movies, but I really love all my ska dvds/tapes as well as my Bouncing Souls dvd (which is arguably the most amazing band documentary ever made)... I also dig 50s movies like The Damned Don't Cry!
I get 4 channels, so I basically watch whatever's on that sucks the least.
I don't really read anymore- but back in the day, when I was a pseudo-intellectual I liked: Being and Nothingness by Sartre, The Story of Philosophy, Sophie's World, Denying Evolution by Pigliucci, The Making of a Philosopher by McGinn, A Question of Attraction by David Nicholls... and had a fascination with Nietzsche and his killer moustache.
My heroes are all old (and/or dead) men:
George Carlin
Skankin'Richard
Jean-Paul Sartre
+Any ska musician who is actually doing something for the ska scene, unlike my lazy, un-talented ass.
