I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

As of 10:30AM Eastern on 07/08/07, I permanently changed my preference about Friend Requests. I was getting WAY too many spammers and phishers. So, if you want to Befriend me, you're going to have to know either my last name, OR the e-mail address I've associated with this Profile. If you don't know either of those, and you truly want to befriend me, please write to me via my Contact Table, and request an Add. There will be NO EXCEPTIONS. I'm truly sorry, but I was growing tired of all the BS, so this is the way it's to be.
Also- as of 12/25/07, I am now enabling the CAPTCHA code option for incoming ALL e-mails, Comments, and Friend requests, because, once again, the spammers and phishers are getting thru. I am truly sorry it's coming down to this, but I had to put a stop to the BS...

Before I start, I'd like to say something. I'm taking the initiative, and saying 'hi' to a LOT of people here! If I say 'hi' to you, it's because something about you has caught my attention, and I'm telling you it did. I'm just paying you a compliment. If I am too old, or seem too outlandish for you (Read on. You'll see- I'm different!), or if you truly can't identify what I've done as just paying you a compliment, forgive me. At the very least, have the common courtesy to acknowledge me before moving on. Is that too much to ask? I sincerely hope not. Oh, and there's one last thing. I won't add you as a Friend beforehand. I ALWAYS ask. Also- I'm not here to 'collect' Friends. I believe in quality first- NOT quantity. Suffice it to say that the ONLY thing I expect, in quantity, IS quality! If I do wind up with alot of Friends here on MySpace, it's because each one brings something different and unique with them that I find appealing. That's just how I am. There- that being said, back to my 'About Me'. My born name is John, but I use Jayson-Paul Agee as both my musical stage name and as my 'nom-de-plume' when I write poetry. I have a Musician's Profile on MySpace as well, and it can be viewed by clicking here . My rig is all-pro, and I proudly use equipment from the following companies:
On a more serious note, I was the victim in a car crash on June 7 th of 2000 and my spine was broken at L1 (lumbar region, 1 st vertebrae). It took 2 operations to get everything right again, but I'm finally done. I was 6'1" pre-op, and am now 5'10" post-op after having what is known as a spinal fusion. I'm 100% recovered now and ready to resume living my life.
I'm also a child advocate AND decidely PRO CHOICE! I've always been, but I knew I was right in my belief when my ex-wife nearly DIED bringing our only son into this world, and I respect the heck out of her for being so brave. So much so, that I had a vasectomy three weeks after his birth.
I've always believed that our children must be protected- at all costs. If you believe as I do, click on the link beneath the banner below:
Click here to locate registered sex offenders that may be living near your home, or children's schools. This is a NATIONAL listing! Knowledge IS power!
Now that all the serious stuff is done, back to the fun stuff!
I like to breathe fire (when my back lets me), spit blood (when I get the chance), wiggle my tongue (yet again, when I get the chance), and stalk the stage (when I find myself playing in a band). I have the same rose Paul Stanley has tattooed on his right upper arm tattooed on my right upper arm, and I have two piercings- in my left ear's lower lobe. Sorry- nothing outlandish.
I'm a Dean's List (final GPA- 3.85) graduate of The Berdan Institute 's Pharmacy Technician program. I'm also a bassist who LOVES KISS ! I'm also a single dad whose 10-year-old son is, in my humble opinion, the best thing since sliced bread! When I'm not doing any of those things (is there really any time LEFT??!!), I REALLY enjoy video games. Atari 2600, ColecoVision, Nintendo, Sega Genesis, SNES, PSX, PS2 . I've got just about every game platform ever released- except for Nintendo GameCube, Xbox/Xbox 360, PSP, and PS3. I also LOVE candlelight and strawberries (YOU can take it from there!) I really enjoy a good game of billiards, too. Oh, and CHESS, too! Can't forget chess! On ladies- I LOVE the smell of ' Tommy Girl ' perfume! That scent drives me absolutely CRAZY! I could get totally LOST in BOTH that scent AND the woman wearing it! Also, I LOVE the look of '80s B-I-G hair, large silver hoop earrings, John Lennon-style sunglasses and high heels! I've never had alot of friends in my life, and I'm here to see if I can change that. Lastly (and this is VERY important to me), if your introductory message to me sounds anything like, "I have a link to my webcam on my profile"- save your fingers. DON'T EVEN THINK OF CONTACTING ME! I DON'T WANT TO SEE IT, NOR DO I WANT TO KNOW YOU! Your profile WILL be flagged and you WILL be reported as a spammer! The same thing goes for anybody asking me if I will sell them a piece (or pieces) of my bass rig! If you're already a Friend of mine, and you DO ask me, you'll be dropped like a bad habit, AND then reported as a Spammer! Read the disclaimer at the top of my Rig page! I will NOT add you if your Profile is set to 'Private', either. You're obviously hiding something and I won't play your stupid game.
END OF LINE...
Some of the Friends I've made here include:
My band:
An ALIVE II -era (1977-1978) KISS tribute band featuring Joe Forestano (Gene Simmons), Paul Del Boccio (Peter Criss), Joe Salomone (Paul Stanley), and Craig Dragotta (Ace Frehley)
(I'm a STRONG believer in freedom of speech! So there! Remember... you've been WARNED!)
I edit my profile with Thomas' MySpace Editor V 4.4 !

My Interests

Before ANYthing- I love CATS! I've been a part of their lives since I was a newborn. I lost my best friend of 12 years ("Vixen" was at LEAST 25 years old) in 2005- of natural causes. She was a BEAUTIFUL short-haired, calico, tortoise shell tabby, and she had CATitude! Daddy misses you, Vix. I also love MOST '80s heavy metal, vintage/rare guitar/music gear collecting, writing music, writing poetry, and medieval history and recreation. I'm an (inactive) member of the SCA. I reside in the East Kingdom, in the Barony of Settmour Swamp.

My SCAdian persona's name was Jayson of Seven Pines Mountain. I was Head of Haus of the now defunct Haus Drakken Fury. Jayson of Seven Pines Mountain was both Viking and Teuton. I used my family's lineage- being of Norse decent on my Father's side, and of Lithuanian decent on my Mother's (she was born in Kaunas, Lithuania). I am darned proud of those heritages, too!
Remember "refrigerator magnets"? (I will clear any messages left for me after I read them)

Or THIS timeless classic!
.. .. .. .. .. ..
And of course- VIRTUAL BUBBLE WRAP!!!
....

I'd like to meet:

Quality people- and in HUGE quantities!

Music:

KISS , '80's (and almost all metal [except black, dark, gloom, or death. It's just too negative for me.]), some soft rock (like HEART! I LOVE the Wilson sisters!), newer jazz, and classical.
(Psst- Place your mouse's cursor over each picture below for a brief explaination of it!)

Movies:

I like action movies such as "Conan the Barbarian" and "Conan the Destroyer". I like comedy movies such as "Caddyshack", "Monty Python and the Holy Grail", "The Blues Brothers" (the FIRST one), and "Animal House". I like dramas such as "2001: A Space Odyssey", "Gone With the Wind", and "The Quiet Man". I LOVE OLD sci-fi, horror, and monster flicks such as "The Fog" (the FIRST one), "Halloween" (the FIRST one), "Nosferatu", "Interview with the Vampire", "Dracula" (both the ORIGINAL silent with Bela Lugosi AND "Bram Stoker's Dracula" with Gary Oldman), "Frankenstein", "The Thing" (BOTH versions!), and all the "Godzilla", "Rodan", "Mothra", "King Kong", and "Gamera" movies! Last, but certainly not least, " KISS Meets the Phantom of the Park".

Television:

I watch (mostly) educational TV like . I about LIVE on ! I LOVE CSI! I enjoy MLBaseball- especially those 'Amazin' New York Mets ! I've also decided to start following the Oakland Athletics , since Mike Piazza is now signed with them. As far as NFL football goes, I'm a RABID Pittsburgh Steelers fan! I have been since 1972! I also follow BOTH the New Orleans Saints and the New York Jets . Now, in NHL hockey, it's either the Tampa Bay Lightning or the Saint Louis Blues for me! I also LOVE watching the WWE on TV. My FAV is old school Mark Calloway! That's right-vintage " Undertaker "! I'm a HUGE fan of Star Trek (TOS), Space: 1999 , and U.F.O. ! Additionally, I like watching both NHRA Monster Trucks (Dennis Anderson's " Grave Digger " and Dennis Balhan's "Escalade"!) and the funny car," Christine ", based on the 1958 Plymouth Fury from the Stephen King book of the same name. I also like IHRA drag racing's ( Carl Speiring , racing either his GORGEOUS black 1963 split-window Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, or his equally STUNNING black 1957 Chevrolet Bel-Air! (two of my three FAVORITE classic cars). Oh, and of COURSE- PGA Tour golf (hey- I need to quiet it down SOMEtime, right?).

Books:

First off- "The Bass Grimoire - Complete" by Adam Kadmon. I also read alot of tech books on World War I and World War II warbirds, and guitar repair and construction. I also enjoy both "Lady Death" AND "Vampirella" comic books. My FAVORITE book from childhood is P.D. Eastman's "Go, Dog. Go!"

Heroes:

My heroes AREN'T on postage stamps! When I'm onstage, I HEAVILY emulate Gene Simmons! My bass playing style is a mixture of, of COURSE-

Gene Simmons ( KISS )
and other bass Gods the likes of Joey DiMaio ( Manowar ), Steve Harris ( Iron Maiden ), Frank Bello (Anthrax), Chris Squire (Yes), Jack Bruce (Cream), Geddy Lee (Rush), Billy Sheehan (Talas, Mr. Big), Stanley Clarke (Return To Forever, The Clarke/Duke Project, Ron Wood and the New Barbarians, solo artist), Michael Anthony ( VAN HALEN ), John Paul Jones (Led Zeppelin), Donald "Duck" Dunn (Booker T. and the MGs, The Blues Brothers) Cliff Williams ( AC/DC ), Les Claypool (Primus), Blackie Lawless (W.A.S.P.), Mark "The Animal" Mendoza (Twisted Sister), Lemmy Kilminster ( Motörhead ), and Sting (Police-era). My keyboard playing influences include Jon Lord (Deep Purple), Rick Wakeman (Yes), and Keith Emerson (Emerson, Lake, and Palmer/Powell). Now mind you- this list only JUST scratches the surface!
