Prince Zohar of Dub Traffik Control
Project Summary:
In 2006, Angelo Gastelum , Prince Zohar , Tom Burbank , Cochemea Gastelum & Eddie Turbo joined forces to form Dub Traffik Control .
Ex-Expatriate Angelo Emile Gastelum aka El Poeta aka Carlito Headset once moved to Tijuana, Mexico only to shack up in arguably the shadiest most chicken feathered slab on the planet--just to soak up the culture. He's been to dub & back; passing through his "Musically Speaking" LP off imputor? along the way. Nowadays he enjoys green tea, spliffs & general knowledge kickin' on the regular with friend Euvin Spencer aka Don Carlos. Angelo's dubs have been compared to The Descendants, Scientist & Augustus Pablo.
A ridiculously precise beatologist, Tom Burbank is no stranger to the game. Adding his glitch'd out krunk approach to dubstep riddims, his style can be pinpointed above the soundclash cacophony. Check the evidence on his "Famous First Words" LP out on Planet Mu . For fans of: edIT, daedelus, and all things wikked.
The 2nd funkiest purveyor of the intonational technique, Cochemea Gastelum has been making the rounds in some of the most recognized heavy hitting jazz and funk groups through out the country, including Robert Walter's 20th Congress, Soulive, Melvin Sparks Band, The Headhunters, DJ Logic, Mocean Worker, and Sharon Jones and The Dap-Kings. With sophisticated solos and crafty sax manipulation, Cochemea is a throw back to the great jazz saxophonists of the past.
The 3rd largest archive of freshness (see Jazzy Jay & Afrika Bambaata), Eddie Turbo's cerebellum holds ancient secrets of dance floor vibrations through harmonious manifestations. It is Eddie who first coined the term, "Dub Traffik Control" after wintessing El Poeta perform his 'ILL-Skreamma Loop Stylee Set'. He has also held court as the Editor-in-Chief of RE:UP Magazine and selecting dubwise riddim's alongside Tribe of King's Rashi on Monday Nites formerly at Bar Dynamite .
