This clearly explains his musical influences that range from latin rock legends Charly García and Fito Páez to their anglo counterparts Peter Gabriel and Sting. Alva has crossed boundaries when he signed to major record label Warner Music three years ago and moved to Mexico were he has made a name of his own as a respected musician. His use of native Peruvian instruments such as the charango and zampoña add charm and warmth to his happy yet profound lyrics. His compositions have earned him fans all over the world with catchy melodies and a sound so strong and unique that cannot be compared to any of his influences and much less to the artists of his generation.
