About Me

i'm a photographer who loves music - however i have no musical talent. so im trying to figure out how to reconcile my love of photographing the talented musicians who are in turn sharing their love with the audience and making a living. i never just photograph an artist playing or singing i really try to capture the soul of the situation. my dream is to be able to just roll with artists and capture the studio, backstage and on stage moments. its my true joy and passion and besides I FUCKING KICK ASS DOING IT - SERIOUSLY!im constantly and consistently seeking balance in all areas of my lifeen mi vida yo fue a mexico y guatemala y yo aprende espanol. evidentemente yo olivide algun de idioma de espanol (lo siento ahora por ortografia malos.) pero yo quiere a decir ummmm. hi!

My Interests

Photography, Social Issues, especially those surronding women and young women. Feminism and not that I don't shave under my armpits and I hate men shit either. I just want women to know more about themselves, I could have saved myself a lot of heartbreak if I just had self esteem 5 yrs earlier. Young black men, keeping them out of the prison industrial complex, and teaching them responsibility and values so they can grow up and be husbands and fathers and not wanting to forever "play the field." Education, not public school "we couldn't get a fuck about if you can read or not" education, but real education things that can take you through your life like learning about self esteem, consumerism, finances, how capitalism really works, sex education, art appreciation (and not conventional art either), entrepreneuralism, self-defense. You know all that stuff that they keep out of the institution.

I'd like to meet:

Cool, honest, lovely people.

Movies:

Run Lola Run, Mira Nair films, Love Jones, Coming to America, When We Were Kings, Friday, Do the Right Thing (yeah you!)

Television:

What's TV?

Looks Like Crazy on an Ordinary Day, Sisters of the Yam, Heal Thy Self, Erotic Noir, Black Feminist Thought, Wounds of Passion_________________ (send me your suggestions!)

Heroes:

bell hooks, cornell west, nina simone (musically), james vanderzee. gordon parks, and actually im going to add dave chappelle to this list. being in hollywood i really have come to feel a extra tiny small taste of what he must have went through and damn if it dont take a shit load of courage to step away from shit that it seems like you "should" do.
