About Me
Individually they are forces to be reckoned with: Nadia Batson (Award Winning Songwriter and Soca’s Favourite “Caribbean Girlâ€), Mista Vybe (2006 Caribbean Soca Monarch), Michelle Sylvester (2005 International Soca Queen & 2005 International Groovy Soca Monarch), Ms. Alysha (The undisputed Wickedest Female Lyricist In The Business), and Terry Seales (One of Soca music’s most adored male performers and sex symbols). When you bring these five Trinidadian Soca superstars together you get Soca music’s first bonafide SUPER-GROUP - the Big Artiste Crew!
Dubbing themselves "Big Artistes" is not meant to sound arrogant as some initially thought, however, as the name was chosen purely because they plan to accomplish big things individually, as well as collectively. In many respects they have already accomplished a great deal, however, in true Big Artiste fashion, they continually strive to become bigger and better than before.
The group members describe The Big Artiste Crew (also known as the B.A.C.) as "more of a mindset than a groupâ€. “We were always friends,†explains Mista Vybe, “We always helped each other out when it came to making music. We always loved working together, and we ended up performing together as a group a lot as a result. It only made sense for us to take it to the next level by making it official and doing an album as the Big Artiste Crew." That being said, they released their critically-acclaimed and much-loved debut album “Get Together†in 2006.
Containing classic hits like “Party†by Ms. Alysha (featuring FayAnn Lyons), “Ting 4 D Road†by Mista Vybeâ€, “Caribbean Girl†by Nadia Batson, “Seduction by Terry Seales Featuring Michelle Xavier & Michelle Sylvester, “Start D Race†by Nadia Batson & Mista Vybe and “Always On My Mind†by Mista Vybe featuring Michelle Sylvester just to name a few, the album solidified their standing as Soca’s first Super-Group.
A year later having put the finishing touches on their soon-to be released 2008 album, "Love Connection", Vybe, Alysha, Michelle, Terry and Nadia are all excited to give the world another taste of what this multi-talented quintet is made of.
“Love Connection†prefaced a short 2008 carnival season, but with the number of hit singles on the album you could never tell. The aptly-titled collection of songs is a clear and definite representation of the power of each individual artiste and the elements that what will make for yet another exciting and successful year for them all.
Fans can look forward to smash singles like Ms. Alysha’s “Work Him Out†and “We Own D Roadâ€, Nadia Batson’s “Meri Zindagi (Love Of My Life)â€, Terry Seales’ “Think It Overâ€, Michelle’ Sylvester’s “That Thing You Do†and Mista Vybe & Kes The Band’s “Wave It Awayâ€, as well as appearances on remixes and additional tracks by some of the Crew’s “friends and family in the businessâ€, including major names like Menace (of 3Suns), Sanell Dempster, Kes The Band and even their extra-terrestrial “honourary BAC memberâ€, Roboman.
