Robson Galdino was born in the year of 1964 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He started playing the guitar at age of 14, two years later he entered the Villa-Lobos school of music in Rio, where he studied theory, traditional harmony, counterpoint, analysis and classical guitar. At the same time he took private lessons of functional harmony and arrangement with Celia Vaz. He's been to college for jornalism but quit at the 3rd year to go to the U.S.A.-New York where he spent more than 2 years and studied with a variety of teachers(Frank Jargon, Bill Mathews, John Scofield). Back in Brazil he studied with Sergio Benevenuto at the Rio Musica School. In 1990 he moved to France and studied arrangement and orchestration with François Theberge , Jean Gobinet and Claire Fisher and improvisation with Lionel and Stephane Belmondo.
In the past 10 years he has concentrated mostly in composing and producing, while still touring Europe, North America, Africa, Japan and Korea with Bia and Clementine. He has produced, arranged, played and or recordind tracks for: Grupo Ensaio, Bia, Clementine, Toure Kounda, Coumba Gawlo(Kora award winning album), Khaled, Mino Cinelu, Rosinha de Valença, Nicolas Canteloup, Alexandre Deplat, Lorie, Papa Wemba, Carlos, Nazaré Pereira, Ricardo Vilas, Louis Element, Marcio Faraco, Marcello, Teca Calazans, Katia Carvalho, Sidney Rodrigues, Shahin Badar, Biwa, Tupi Nago, Lalcko, Amenophis, Romulo Marques, Orenchie, Axe Brasil, Pierre Vasiliu, Sidney Rodrigues, Africando, Tony Carreira, Loalwa Bras, Khamaldine, Carrapicho, Miriam Morea, Vladimir Cosma. Besides, he wrote music for many TV or Radio commercials and TV shows: Canal Plus, Vivement Dimanche, Tenue de Soirée, LCI, Les Galeries Lafaiette, Marlboro, Mercedes-Benz, Fun Radio, Sud Radio, La Bande dehouf(France2), SoWhat et Allors(TF1) ...
He has created the label Robsound with it's own recording studio and has licenced Bia's last award winning album(World music album of the year-Felix Canadian Music Awards) "Coraçao Vagabundo/Coeur Vagabond" to SONY/BMG and released the album "A Chegada" de Sidney Rodrigues.
