Music about coffee and tropical fruit drinks

About Me

Vente Caffeinato is a West Seattle Caffeine Jazz band. It was founded by "Bongohead Bob".
Born in Seattle, Washington in the mid 1970's, Bob discovered the Beatnik movement at an early age, and Bob sensed kindred spirits in those free thinking, radical and independent folk. Alas Bob was born too late to actually be a part of the movement.
Not yet aware of this cruel trick of time, Bob nevertheless spent much of his youth preparing to join his coffeehouse brethren: studying the bongo, learning to recite poetry, reading Jack Kerouac, and putting together his updated Beatnik outfit of Birkenstock sandals, turtleneck sweater, dark glasses and black beret.
While hanging out in the coffee houses of Seattle and Portland, Bob became a master barista. And though he never found the beatniks for whom he longed, Bob did discover a vibrant, thriving community of independent artists, performing music every bit as good as that being offered by the music establishment, yet with a raw energy that had been lost as the spirit of Music gradually lost its battle to the spirit of Big Business.
Disappointed in the whole missing-the-beatnik-movement thing, Bob retreated to a tropical island for a year, entertaining tourists with his imported rendition of "local island" music, and contemplating just when and why his life had gone wrong. It is here that Bob discovered the ying-yang contradiction that would help him become part of a new musical movement: Music about coffee which acknowledges that part of the world that requires each of us to work hard to accomplish anything of value in life. Music about tropical fruit drinks, because at some point we all need to just sit on an unnamed beach sipping tropical fruitiness, forgetting the cares of our little piece of the outside world.
And so Bob finally discovered the purpose for his anti-establishment hunger - he would become an independent musician, and live to write and record music for the sheer love it. He could care less whether he ever made a dime on it, or encountered a single fan, but along the way he would meet and encourage like-minded indie musicians. And so Vente Caffeinato was born.
