There’s quite a lot I could mention, but I’ll stick to mentioning the two big ones: Art and Nature. And I really enjoy watching movies, reading, going to gigs, and building puzzles.
Someone from another planet who could suggest a way to effectively and quickly combat global warming.PLEASE, if you're not a Joburg/Pta band, don't request to be a friend. Send me a message and I add you to my favourites!!
I love whatever makes me feel strong, happy or moved when I listen to it. This includes Depeche Mode, Metallica, The Narrow, Choking!Hazard, Scarlet Box, Chevelle, Disturbed, Evanescence, Joday, Deity's Muse, 16stitch, wickhead, Vast, Soil, Drowning pool, Bush, Flaw, Tool, Beatles, Not my dog, Guano Apes and Breaking Benjamin.
Narrowing it down, a few movies I could watch repeatedly would be: The Crow, Blue Crush, 10 things I hate about you, A beautiful mind, Dragonfly, The Fog, Identity, Underworld, Saw 1, Ice Age 1, The Butterfly effect, Centrestage, V for Vendetta, Sin City, Chocolat and Moulin Rouge.
I don’t watch much (if any) TV, but I immensely enjoyed Grey’s Anatomy and Ruby Gloom.
My medium of escapism, I love reading fiction, but I forget a book’s title, author and story as soon as I finish it. But usually I enjoy Wilbur Smith, Dean Koontz, Stephen King, James Patterson, Luanne Rice, Dan Brown, J.K. Rowling, and Michael Palmer to name the few I do remember… I could read the Hannibal books and Harry Potter ten times and still enjoy it.
God, Pierre!, Strijdom van der Merwe, Andy Warhol, my parents, my sister, Zander Blom, my highschool art teacher (Lientjie Barnard, who incidentally also introduced me to Depeche Mode’s music), the Expressionist painters, Hermione Granger, some of my friends and Captain Jack Sparrow.
