About Me

THINGS I AM THAT ARE PERMANENT: I am a Cancer. I am left-handed. I am an only child. I am a punk (who doesn't dress the part). I am a skeptic. I see the glass as half-empty AND half-full. I must question absolutely everything. I must learn about absolutely everything. My politics are progressive. I am an agnostic. I am fascinated by mathematics, geology, physics and astronomy. I am a musician. More specifically, I am a bass guitarist, I am a guitarist, I am a drummer. I have a love of traveling, especially on tour playing music, that simply cannot be quenched. I overreact when I really shouldn't. I underreact when I really should. I am emotional, yet, to those who don't know me, I can appear quite the opposite. I get bored easily - yet - I can easily be convinced that something is quite interesting. If you have a passion that just cannot be faked - I don't care what it is - I will probably be attracted to you as a human being.THINGS THAT I AM NOW THAT I HAVEN'T ALWAYS BEEN: I am 33. I am single. I have 2 cats. I live in a small apartment in Bethpage, NY. I have a Masters degree in mathematics that I do not use. I have worked as a paralegal for a decade and have no interest in having a law degree. I have tried to leave bitterness & anger behind - and allow the younger generation to hold onto those emotions - I just can't do it anymore. ..

My Interests

That I love my family (as small as it is) and my friends should go without saying. I am certainly interested in them. I am a music addict. I got bit by the poker bug - and as long as it continues to be a (somewhat low-paying) part-time job, I'll continue playing, I guess. I like reading, but I don't do it often enough. I like movies...no specific genre, I'm pretty easy that way. NetFlix has been an excellent investment.

I'd like to meet:

Anyone who can allow me to see beauty where I do not currently see it.

Music:

Heavy stuff - punk rock & metal. Classic rock. Prog rock. Jazz. Fusion. Heck - even some classical. You want a specific list? OK.... Black Flag, The Minutemen, Husker Du, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Bob Dylan, Yes, Kansas, AC/DC, Cheap Trick, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Sun Ra, The Residents, Berlioz, Mussorgsky.I play guitar for Two Man Advantage. I have played bass in the Hudson Falcons and the Judas Iscariot and quite a few other bands as well.

Movies:

I like it all. Not a huge fan of big, glossy, predictable, CGI, Hollywood, MTV-inspired "blockbusters". Give me a good story any day. I enjoy old, silent, black & white films. I enjoy films by Woody Allen, Akira Kurosawa, Martin Scorsese, Werner Herzog, and Stanley Kubrick.Currently watching: Way Down East.

Television:

Not much. I seem to watch the Daily Show when I can. I am a news junkie - so I've been known to watch C-Span, much to the dismay of anyone I happen to be sitting next to at that moment.
