About Me

I'm a people watcher, so it usually takes time for me to warm up to others, not because I'm not friendly, I'm just usually so busy studying what is going on that I end up in my own world. There are those rare occasions that I click pretty instantly with someone, and since it doesn't happen often, those relationships are very, very special to me. I love to laugh and have a quirky, dry sense of humor. I adore my friends and family, and really my friends are my family : ) My dog, Clover, is my favorite person in the world (yes, I am one of those people), but I don't dress her up or eat after her or anything too weird. She's been with me for over 10 years now though, so it's pretty surprising I don't do either of those things. I am a big dork. I love to immerse myself in good books. Cheesy 80's movies always make me smile (or cry 'cause like I said, I'm a big dork), and I have a ridiculous library of them. I'm a huge movie buff. In movies, as well as in music, I'll give anything a chance. I live in a great house and I've been busy redecorating my place and enjoying putting more of myself into it. I finally got my bass (it's not home yet, but soon)! I'm taking up piano again as well. Thought I could wing it after playing for so many years when I was younger, but it seems that the years of not playing are the ones that stuck with me. Music and writing are my passions, I'm taking time to develop both talents to try to use them for more worthy causes. There is a lot going on around the world that we don't pay enough attention to, injustices in other countries and in our own against people who deserve much better. I would like to share my writing about some of these issues and you can make up your own mind about them (pending a new computer purchase). I'm hoping to go back to school, even if just for a few classes soon...little by little whittling away at becoming the writer I've always wanted to be. I'm tackling the world on my own again, it's exciting, I have an opportunity to really work for some of the things I have let fall by the wayside, namely my causes and passions, which I guess are really one in the same.
You Are a Little Scary
You've got a nice edge to you. Use it. How Scary Are You? CatherinePure : GreekYour natural charisma and charm makes you an influential figure able to inspire confidence in others. Material abundance and emotional contentment are seemingly drawn to you and satisfy your dreams of success. However being humanitarian you find that applying your talents and creative prowess to a worthwhile purpose is far more satisfying than material gain. Your courage, adaptability and determination overcome any obstacles.

Arrested Developement (I'm still angry it got canceled), The Simpsons, Foster's Home for Imaginary friends, Six Feet Under, Family Guy, Criminal Minds. In my quest for enlightenment I have no t.v., so lots more time for movies, but I'm a little out of touch with shows.

Books:

I am a sucker for books from when I was a kid. Kipling, Silverstein, Chris Van Allsburgh and of coure Dr. Seuss. I still have a special affinity for fantasy be it dark or otherwise, and Anne Rice was good for that. I am also a Stephen King, Hemmingway, Poe, Wuthering Heights and other literary classics. Jack Kerouac, Salman Rushdie, Hanif Kureshi, Shelley Jackson have peaked my interest of late. I am intrigued by biographies, especially auto-biographical works. I love being introduced to new authors or even just books, so if you have any suggestions...

Heroes:
