Ronnie Jacobsen grew up with both parents working as professional musicians. Throughout his childhood he got to meet and hang around a lot of different blues and soul musicians. His father played with people like Lousiana Red, Knut Reiersrud and Sven Zetterberg and whenever they stopped by Ronnie´s house or did concerts; Ronnie always paid a lot of attention to the stories and the music. This also introduced him to the different afro-American music styles that have followed him ever since. It was also these meetings and this music that would lead him to pick up the guitar at the age of 13.By the time he was 18 Ronnie was touring with all kinds of different projects, and when he was picked out to front the “Union Blues Tour†in 1998, he really made it clear that he was one of Norway’s “badest†guitar players. In 2001 Ronnie signed with MTG Music. The first album launched on this label was the hip-hop / blues project Ronnie Jacobsen vs. Salvador. Here he teamed up with Norway’s number one rapper Salvador, to record the critic acclaimed album, adjust your stereo.“Soulified†released in 2005 was Ronnie’s second album but the first one alone. This album was nominated for a norwegian grammy 2006.Ronnie is currently working on his third album which is scheduled for release september 2007.
