My name is Josh Smith but pretty much everyone calls me Smith.
I live in Wollongong NSW, but am a former Newcastle lad aswell.Music is my life. If im not playing it, im listening to it, organising it and supporting it.
I play bass, guitar, drums and anything else i can get my hands on.
I play bass for punk rock band Throwaway Kids and drums/stand up bass/ guitar for Rockabilly outfit Swinging Beef and The Daptoids.
Past bands i been in are Darkest Day and The Flagrants
The best thing i ever accomplished musically was playing alongside my idols THE MISFITS . I also had the pleasure playin alongside THe Nekromantix , the WASTED festival and some of Australias best ever punk bands. Ive gotten to travel around alot doing what i love and meeting some life long friends
I believe in supporting local music and cant stand bitchy jelous people/bands who dont help others out and whinge about their band not gettin anywhere.
I belive that good aussie locals bands go un-noticed which is a fucking tradgedy. The Australian music scene can be so full of shit and the big time exec's dont know fuck all about what people want!
I co-run Socially Discharged records, and own Creepshow Promotions, a band booking/ touring agency that books international tours aswell as helps get great Aussie bands more Exposure. So far ive worked with international acts like The Exploited, Mad Sin, The Meteors, The Adicts and Anti Nowhere League and have some killer bands heading this way in 2008!!
I also am part owner of 5 Crown Lane Record Bar, which is a record store/cafe/art exhibit and All Ages venue in wollongong. We believe in spreading the gospel of local music!
Ive been obsessed with NBA since i was about 10 years old, and to this day its still one of my passions.
