His enormous creativity and impeccable technique allow him to create music which goes beyond traditional flamenco, never forgetting the strength of his flamenco foundations, which is accessible to a broad public no matter where they come from.Jeronimo Maya, JERONIMO, born in Madrid, Spain, in 1977 into a gipsy family with an unrivalled Flamenco pedigree, is a direct descendant of the master guitarist Ramon Montoya. His father Felipe Maya, a professional guitarist, and his great-uncle Ricardo Losada el Yunque, a well-known cantaor. His first public performance in Madrid at the age of seven awoke great anticipation, and since then he had been known as 'Mozart of Flamenco'. Right from the start he stood out from other young flamenco hopefuls, studying music at the Madrid Conservatory of Music, whilst at the same time he trained at home with his father and in family circles. From a very early age it became clear that Jeronimo was a gifted creator, composing some of his own material. At the age of 13, he was invited together with Paco de Lucia and Enrique Morente to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York in a homage to the master Sabicas. He also shared the limelight with Camaron de la Isla at the Plaza de Toros de Malaga.Since the age of 15, he has been touring internationally as concertist. He performed in many important theatres: Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Queen Elizabeth Hall in London, The Art House, Plenary Hall in Singapore, Teatro Real (Spanish Royal Theatre) in Madrid, Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville, to name a few.In May 1999 he was awarded the Copa Teatro Pavon for young artists at the CÃrculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid. And in January 2005 his solo debut album, 'Jeronimo' was awarded the Best Recording Solo Guitar Revelation 2004 of Flamenco Hoy Awards sellected by flamenco specialists.Apart from offering solo concerts, he has also accompanied cantaores such as Diego el Cigala, Chano Lobato, Esperanza Fernandez, Estrella Morente, Jose de la Tomasa, Arcangel, his uncle El Yunque, Ginesa Ortega and Paco del Pozo.LEO DE AURORA: Flamenco Guitarist / ComposerThe guitarist, Leonides Maya, LEO DE AURORA was born in Madrid, in 1981.
