About Me

ABOUT THE WORK I DO:
Welcome to my page. I am a commercials and music promo director based in London, UK. I take my work very seriously and I take pride on what I do. I spend an enormous amount of time making sure the work I do is as good as it can possibly be. I also hate to disappoint the people I work with, that is why I put as many hours as it's needed. I like to get surrounded by people whose work I admire because no matter how talented you might or might not be, alone you do jack ass. I am always looking for interesting work whatever the nature.
Everyone has a particular style and I am slowly becoming aware of mine. It is hard sometimes to learn things about yourself but I am beginning to enjoy it. I like things to look clean and slick, bright colors and minimalistic. I am a big fun of geometry and angles (not the math side of things though...). I love looking at paintings from the old masters for inspiration on how they played a scene or worked out the lighting scheme. I particularly enjoy Rubens's work and how he structured all his paintings along diagonals. The way he used angles, lines and perspective is just mind blowing. It is amazing how much more you can enjoy something when you know just a little bit about what you are actually looking at.
If you are an artist, record label, screen writer, production company, etc and would like me to get involved in your project, please get in touch. If this is for commercial purposes, please contact my production company and they will pass the message on to me. Alternatively just drop me a message

I have done free stuff in the past and continue to do so, not very often I have to say but still do. For me to dedicate my time for free, believe me it has to be good stuff. If you reckon you have something of such calibre, please do get in touch by sending me a message. Sometimes some of the most interesting work someone does are freebies as it allows you to do the kind of work you might not usually do, which is refreshing.
BIOGRAPHY
Anyone who thinks making it as a director is an easy task should get a reality check. Coming from an editing background, over the years I've worked my way up. From corporate promos to crap live TV. From dingy edit suites in the middle of nowhere to trendy, cool Soho suites. Eventually most of the work I did went down the commercial route as I edited and graded a lot of commercials and music videos of all budgets and shapes. Some of the work is remarkably good, some of it is embarrassingly awful. The things that sometimes one does for money.... It really is embarrassing now that I think of it.... I quit editing a year ago and I now only direct, except for the odd .. or grading job, mostly for old clients and friends who have got too used to my touch.
I am now represented as a director by a production company based in London called RIOT. I only edit the work I direct and that only happens when the budget doesn't allow to pay someone to do it. Most of the work I've directed in the past have been commercials though my last few jobs have been music promos. From a personal and artistic point of view I'm always on the look out for interesting and attractive work, whether it is a music track, an abstract idea or a cool script.
I am still playing with the idea of setting up my own club night but time is my main enemy. I wish days had 36 hours instead of 24... Check the links below if you want to find out a bit more about what i do and how I do it.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

If I had my way there are a bunch of people I'd love to meet in person. Nelson Mandela, Steven Spielberg, George Lucas, Mahatma Ghandi, Picasso, Chaplin, Mozart, Jesse Owens, Akira Kurosawa, Michael Jordan, Martin Luther King... I find most interesting people are long gone and all there is left is their work and achievements for most people to enjoy, or more precisely ignore and/ or abuse.
Other people doing the same thing. Writers, producers, directors. Cool artists and singers. Down to earth people who don't waste my time and have something interesting to offer.
Performers, actors, actresses, dancers and models. We're all in the same boat!! I'm constantly working on new stuff so get in touch and hopefully we can work something out.
