My Beautiful Music
LaShaun Tribble was born in Hollywood, FL to Debbie and Meredith Tribble on July 30, 1982. Born into a musically– inclined family, LaShaun frequently sung in church as a child. From seventh to twelfth grade, she was selected to sing at the prestigious Florida Music Educator’s Association’s conference every year. From seventh through her high school senior year, she was chosen for the Sight Reading Choir. A virtuosic child, she has taken piano lessons since her sixth year in grade school and has been coined a musician with ‘perfect pitch’. She attended New World School of the Arts, where she studied Classical Voice and aspired to become an Opera singer. However, her widely varied interests and talents lead her to explore broader horizons.
Her musical ability won her a full scholarship to attend Florida A & M University (FAMU) in Tallahassee, where she double majored in Voice and Piano Performance. Her voice professor, Shirley Johnson, was an established and renowned performer with a doctorate degree in Voice from Indiana University. LaShaun quickly became one of the premier vocal entertainers in the area. While receiving a university education, she directed a church choir at Mt. Ararat AME Church. Her vocal abilities have won her several talent competition titles as well. She won the First Title of FAMU American Idol in 2004.
