Ricardo Lara

Born and raised in the Austin area, Ricardo Lara is attempting to make his mark in the Live Music Capital of the World as a well-known and established singer/songwriter.At an early age, Ricardo was greatly inspired and amazed by Jimi Hendrix and his ability to take a simple instrument and create a complex array of sounds that came together to form an eventual legend. This prompted Ricardo to purchase his first guitar at the age of 15, and he has since added six more guitars to his collection.A self-taught guitar player, Ricardo soon discovered songwriting and performing as a complement to his quiet demeanor. His early songs centered on high school crushes and love denied, while his recent deal with the concepts of death, heartbreak, severed ties, and life's uncertainties.Having grown up in a city and family of musicians, as well as sharing his birthday with the King of Rock, Elvis Presley, it is no wonder then that Ricardo finds himself to be most comfortable on stage and able to express himself more so through music than through the spoken word.
