Shane Keane. Following such influences as Johnny Horton, George Jones and George Strait, Keane, has made a splash in the country music scene as a member of the Castle Records family, headed by CEO Ed Russell. Keane’s inspirational lyrics and old country sound connect with people everywhere. His recent single, “Pearl McCoy†has been released on CDX Volume 386 and is being promoted by Airplay Specialists of Nashville TN. and appeared in the CMT Magazine and new compilation album.Born and raised in the small town of Alliance, Neb., Keane started his career three years ago. He came from a long line of engineers and was the oldest of three boys. His connection to music came from long evenings spent teaching himself to play the guitar and how to write music.“Connecting with people through music is so intimate,†Keane says. “They relate to music like no other way of communication.Keane started his musical quest by performing at county fairs in his hometown.At 23, Keane took a chance and followed his music to Nashville, the place he thought he would “make it or break itâ€. Castle Records signed him shortly after.He went on to headline for country-legend Willie Nelson. It was a dream come true for Keane. His performance received great reviews, but the true compliment came directly after the show.“As Willie and his staff walked by, he [Nelson] put his hand on my shoulder and said, ‘Ata-boy.’ I have never felt so blessed in my entire life,†Keane reflects.New Artist Radio held their Annual Awards Show in Salt Lake City, Utah. Keane was nominated for two awards involving his debut single “Pearl McCoyâ€; Country Song of the Year and Song of the Year in all categories and awarded Country Male Artist of the Year. Keane was thrilled for such accolades.Recollecting the moment, Keane says, “I never expected this moment to come. I knew that I had worked hard and was proud of all I had accomplished, but I knew there so much talent and love for music out there. I was overwhelmed with joy that people accepted and truly liked my music.â€During the Country Broadcasting Seminar, Keane performed at the World Famous Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge. Keane knew this was a tremendous opportunity. The Legendary Honky-tonk on Broadway has birthed such musicians as Patsy Cline, Willie Nelson and Hank Williams.Although Keane’s career began three years ago and each day is a new adventure. His path has been short, but headed in the right direction.
