1349 is a black metal band hailing from Oslo, Norway. The group formed in 1997 and has some members of the former band Alvheim. The band's music is more traditional than many modern Black Metal bands. It is similar in style and construction to the Second Wave of Norwegian Black Metal bands of the early 1990s. 1349 has been compared to the early Enslaved, Burzum, Gorgoroth, Immortal and Mayhem. In recognizing their influences, the band performed a cover of Mayhem's "Buried by Time and Dust" on their debut LP.
The name 1349 was chosen by the band because it is the year the Black Death spread to Norway.

We certainly want everybody to make money, however we also want the kids to be able to afford to come out and have an incredible experience. They're also welcome to book their own shows in local venues on the day of OZZFEST. I.m not stopping them. The highly anticipated reunion of Ronnie James Dio, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward has been comfirmed.
