NO WAR!! DAMN BULLETS!!

About Me

Damn Bullets. can be understood as a statement.
This four piece was first heard on a late night Hendrix College radio show in the fall of 2004, and instantly became a hit with the local college crowd. Since then, Damn Bullets. has played popular Central Arkansas venues including White Water Tavern, KUCA/KCON radio, Locust St., Juanita's, and Sticky Fingerz...where they opened the night for the Avett Brothers. The boys were hard a work this spring and landed in the final round of the Arkansas Times Musicians Showcase.Typically audiences find Damn Bullets.’s sound unique but danceable. Jim Harris of The Arkansas Times describes the sound as "fascinating and original rockabilly-biuegrass-rock-jam". The boys don’t cite any particular influences, but are very clear in their belief that everything is an influence. Their songs are spiritual in nature and demonstrate a social awareness.
“Our focus is sound. We love to bring people together in joy. It helps to make the universe better.” Paul Morphis

My Interests

Music:

Band Members:
Paul Morphis [guitar, vocals, & any other instrument on stage] - this Greek stallion is a graduate of the University of Central Arkansas who currently does nothing but play music and spend time camping/hiking/climbing etc... we feel sorry for him! Joe Sundell [left handed guitar, banjo, harmonica, vocals] - this Monticello Beaux is a graduate of Hendrix College. He uses his knowledge of quantum physics and religious thought to create bodacious beats and mad rhymes. His gift of gab is complete, his style is immaculate, his defense is negotiable. DJ Bennett [bass guitar, vocals] - was discovered in a mine shaft around the town of Ozark. He describes his heinous rhythms and awsome beats as the underground cycles of da earff, which he refers to as "the humm." ra-ra-ra-ra raise it up! Graeme Higgins [drums] - his incredibly chiseled features have made him a hit drummer with the modern jazz fusion combo, Midnight Express, as well as the internationally renowned Christian Metal sensatioon, Kaleo. His rhythmic stylings know no linguistic boundries. He describes his role in the band as "the native taming the wild mustang."
Influences: It would be impossible to say that Damn Bullets has a sound that has never been heard before because their sound incorporates many elements from recognizable genres like Delta Blues, Rockabilly, Folk, Bluegrass, Funk & Soul, and countless other descriptions made by listeners. The guys have spent most of their lives in Arkansas - but each member has also performed abroad with various groups...
