About Me

BIOGRAPHY..................................................
When a DJ moves from El.ue parties to the Kazantip Festival in Ukraine, and still manages to take in New Caledonia (a Beach Party in Noumea), Spain (the Penelope in Benidorm), Switzerland (the Dachcantine in Zurich), not to mention doing sets at “Home” (Sydney, Australia) and Paris (clubs like the Rex, Batofar, Red Light…), you can reasonably invent the name "globe-trotter-turntable-ist" for Pepperpot.
A DJ since 1992, Pepperpot feels as much at ease at confidential private parties as he does at techno festivals with audiences of more than 15.000 people – he has always devoted himself exclusively to DJ-ing, rubbing shoulders in his sonic trips with such major electronic-music figures as Derrick May, John Acquaviva, Steve Bug, DJ Pierre, Kenny Hawkes, The Advent, Kevin Saunderson, Sasha Funke, Ivan Smagghe, DJ Hell, Paul Kalkbrenner, Swayzak …
From 1996 to 1999 he was a resident DJ, and he co-promoted the famous private EL.UE parties which gathered the techno heads of Paris. That phenomenon grew, and Pepperpot was revealed to the French Techno scene. Thanks to D’jedi and the EL.UE party people, they were unforgettable years…
In summer 1999, Greg (his real name) moved to Australia and stayed there for a whole year. He played and had residencies in the main clubs in Sydney (Chinese Laundry, Home Nightclub, The Globe, SOS @ Greenwood Hotel, Kink @ Arthouse Hotel, Gas, Sugareef, The Icebox, Candy’s Appartment, Soho…)
He also started refining his mixes as well as his musical sensibilities through his contacts on the local scene. As he widened the scope of his influences, making the most of an “other” vision of clubbing culture, he moved quite naturally towards a more Electro and House sound that could even be described as deep, groovy and trippy.
Back in France in September 2000, and fortified by his musical experiences abroad, he took over two residencies @ the famous clubs “L’Enfer” and “La Loco” … he also mixed a CD “Tech House Session 1” for Wagram Music which sold almost 20.000 copies!!!
In 2002, with Aurore Alcaline and a group of partygoers, Pepperpot created the association known as “Flexibulle”, which brought together DJs, VJs, Decorators, Stage Designers, Graphic Artists, Video Artists, Directors, Editors, Composers and Landscape Architects… who all shared a passion for electronic music and parties. Ever-ready to party 'til dawn, this Monty Pythonesque group of enthusiasts organized regular events in various sites across the French capital, including the Batofar, Nouveau Casino and the Mezzanine de l’Alcazar… and not forgetting other unique spaces for limited-edition parties.
In 2005 he took over a residency @ the famous club “Batofar”. His popularity continued to grow, and he played regularly at leading Paris venues, but it was in 2006 that he became an unavoidable figure on the French electro scene, establishing a surprising mix-style: even more cutting-edge, while still retaining all its originality.
His passion for detail, combined with his musical maturity and original technique, became definitions for his unique concept of electronic music: when the barriers fall, everything becomes possible. He’s also incredibly versatile, and can adapt his sound to play anything with equal skill, from early warm-up teasers right through to a main Room set, or special 6-hour “after” sets.
Today he continues to divide his time between DJ-ing in France and all over the world, organizing parties and working on various artistic projects…
His second Mix CD, “Requiem for a Mill…” is due for release in October 2007.
