About Me
Birol Giray AKA BeeGee (born in 1964), started DJing in 1982. Plus, he was one of the founding partners of Staras, expert company of sound/light systems and stage set-ups for big concert and organizations. He was the first DJ of Studio 54, the biggest and the best club in Turkey. In that era, he organized many fashion-shows’ music with many choreographers.
In 1988 BeeGee moved to England to work at Annabels, the most famous club in London.
Back in Turkey, BeeGee started his radio adventure as one of the founding partners of Power FM in 1991. Later on he established PD (Production Department) to organize his own alternative events. He realized many important events like Prodigy (1998), Paul Oakenfold (1998), Run DMC Turkey Tour (1998), Faithless (1999), Jamiroquai (2003) etc.
Aiming to create electronic music scene in Turkey, BeeGee established FG 93.7 FM (Future Generation) with fellow Can Tanca. FG 93.7 was voted as the best alternative radio station in Turkey on its 4th year. From the year 2001 until now, FG 93.7 gathered more than 400.000 electronic music lovers in the events and still continues to... In year 2004, 2005, 2006 Electronica Festival Istanbul was organized at 4 different stages with more than 100 world known DJs and artists with the attendance of over 37.000 music lovers.
The duo behind FG 93.7 established Turkey’s one and only down-tempo radio station Lounge FM 102 in 2005. With Lounge 102 the radio sector in Turkey gained another conceptual radio station which has even its own one and only Chill-Out Festival.
BeeGee is known as the best Trance DJ in Turkey. Sharing the stage with many world known DJs, is also headlining big parties.
