Jonathan Clements (vocals), Aaron Lecesne (guitar), Alex Landry (bass), and Josh Kwart (drums) have joined forces to create the far-out foursome known as Crazy 88. All four guys are extremely talented. Now, when I say "extremely talented," I really mean "freaking phenomenal!" You would never expect four guys in their twenties to have such incredible technical skill as well as an amazing innovative vision for music.As for their style of music, let me try to break it down for you. Imagine super thick, funky bass lines, pure rock, often psychedelic guitar riffs, solid, metal inspired beats, all topped off with Brandon Boyd-esque vocals. Let's just say, these guys have created a cosmic sound that is all their own and is sure to mesmerize anyone that listens.The show itself was beyond entertaining. Besides Crazy 88's funky, original sound, they're stage presence is off the chain. It's almost as if the spirit of the sound is personified through them. It's clear that each member of this band puts their heart and soul into each and every song. All four musicians feel the music and make each member of the audience feel it too. The room was filled with swaying, head bobbing spectators all of whom were digging every tune Crazy 88 turned out.Crazy 88 is the type of band that is beginning to define metro-Atlanta music. The drive toward an individual sound is a breath of fresh air in an industry full of cookie-cutter music makers. They aren't afraid to experiment with new sounds and to push the limits of what we know as music. If you ever have the opportunity to catch these guys in action, do not pass it up!
