From their southern California roots and their passion for music, Hemingway emerged in April, 2004. The band hit the rock scene at full speed ahead. As they quickly received attention in the ever developing rock scene they also received respect for being a highly driven and self-motivated icon. Right out of the gate, Hemingway did what takes most bands years to accomplish, for example, supporting and headlining venues such as House of Blues, The Whisky, Soma, The Key Club, Chain Reaction, and The Roxy. Also with the help of a few television appearances and newspaper articles, their fanbase began to grow faster and larger then they had orginally anticipated.
A year had passed, as did the nights of show after show and new fans continuing to support and follow them. With the band members wanting to challenge themselves and further define their sound, they created a new distinctive style. Huge melodic guitars, powerful locking drum and bass and layered vocal harmonies that will send chills to your finger tips. Hemingway's newly developed sound is what they call "Arena Rock".
With this new vision and personal satisfaction, Hemingway felt it neccessary to go back into the studio to write new material and create the music and sound they have always wanted make. As hours turned to days and days turned to months, so many new ideas and thoughts were brought to the table making it overwhelming yet exciting to be back in the development process. While keeping there heads in a "back-to-the-basics" frame of mind, Hemingway stepped out of the studio with a seven song EP to show the world, "we've got what it takes".
The EP is finished and Hemingway has taken the stage once again. While they continue to grow as musicians and as a band, they are making a huge impact with their music to fans all around.
