currently looking for a female singer. please.

About Me

We're not taking any bookings until the new year. Basically I have a lot of debt to pay off, and I'm going back to uni to study Music Production.
The stuff in the player isn't the best representation of what we play but it's better than having nothing. It's just something I was doing on my laptop.
We're currently looking for a competent female singer to join the band, as Kate has left the UK to go to university in Paris. While we wish her the best of luck it's just not feasible keeping her as a member in the band as we'd like to push onward and upward over the next year. The ideal applicant will:
- be able to sing well, preferably in a non-fake sounding English accent (basically, if you sound like Kate Nash, or sound American, you can fuck off).
- be able to play a stringed instrument of some sort (bass would be preferable, but violin / viola / cello / guitar would also be just as good).
- live in the Surrey or south London area, and be willing to travel to band practices in Hinchley Wood (near Kingston, there's decent transport links by train and road).
- be into stuff like Biffy Clyro, Oceansize, Owen, Jetplane Landing, Tellison, 65daysofstatic, Mogwai, Jacob's Stories, Get Cape, Aereogramme & Sunny Day Real Estate.
Bonus points if you:
- can drive
- like good times / can tolerate my often ridiculous behaviour
- like the idea of travelling the country sleeping on floors and not getting paid much at all but doing something you love.
If you're interested, or know someone who might be, please email [email protected]. Please. Thanks!

Sounds Like: Someone said this about Seafronts, which I thought was a nice way of describing it:
"This song could [also] be a caravan song, though not quite as giggly, and a lot more starry-eyed. Imagine: It had been a long day - we were both tired and restless from sitting about, drinking tea and watching ancient repeats of Rising Damp. Neither of us could drive so we walked to the shop, then down to the beach. You took your shoes and socks off and sighed; I zipped my coat and pulled my hood up over my head. We walked along the pier, your voice going against the wind, finding its way into my heart. I stopped at the edge of the pier, and sat down; You worried that I might fall in. I pulled my sleeves down over my hands, turned around and embraced you." Video of Walking Along Seafronts At Night - live @ The First Highland Cow Alldayer, at The Peel in Kingston
Basically we're massively hungover here (except for Kate) because we partied so hard the night before as it was my birthday. Ouch.

Far too much footage of me acting like an absolute tool. Lovingly shot and edited by James Tempercalm.

House party tour. PLEASE READ! (17th May '06)

Right so basically, I can't really be arsed with the whole process of sending a demo to a venue and begging for a gig x 100, so I'm doing things slightly differently. I've toyed with the idea of a ho...
