About Me

................ The half Puerto Rican, half Hawaiian Bobby Hook a.k.a Curious Emcee was born in Hawaii in 1981. For the first fifteen years of his life he grew up in poverty without a mother. She passed away when he was three years old. He was raised by his grandmother in a dangerously prejudice neighborhood on the Windward Side of Oahu. He soon learned that he had to do whatever it took to survive. The rough up bringing as a child would prepare him for the move at age 15 he would make to Chicago with his father. In the short time period that he lived in Chicago the friends and choices that he made helped to further jeopardize his education and future. Which soon inspired a move to Colorado, only to see that trouble follows you wherever you go. The amount of trouble that he got into in Colorado would ultimately lead to him being thrown to the streets as a teenager. There he found a life surrounded by drugs and crime. And yet again more poverty. For him survival meant one thing…, Learning the art of hustling. Eventually this lifestyle led him to run ins with the law and a short time spent in County Jail. This pushed him to stop the path he was on and follow his inner talent of rhyming. When released from jail in 2000 he broke out in the Jungle scene bearing the name Curious Emcee. He linked up with DJ A/Tak of Roofless Productions leading him to Emceeing some of the biggest show’s in Colorado including, The Sun, Caffeine, and Skylab. While performing at these show’s, he met MC Dino of Urban Aboriginee, and soon became one of the leading members. MC Dino would help him to hone his musical production skills which led to him creating his own crew Flow Fusion. Flow Fusion was a band of artists that fused the two styles of music Jungle and Hip Hop. After working with Flow Fusion he felt his hunger was so much more. He wanted to go solo. Himself and Avery Fantom, of Flow Fusion, formed Guava House an all Hip Hop crew. Through Guava House he was able to have his break on the scene as a solo artist….Curious Emcee. He released two albums Curious Emcee – Level Freakout and Curious Emcee – My Team. Although he put his heart and sole into these two cds he still felt that there was something lacking. He wanted to dig deeper into his Hip Hop roots. In 2006 he created Bobby Hook. Still keeping true to his drum and bass past as Curious Emcee, he could also conquer new terrains as Bobby Hook. In the last year he feels that he has finally found the sound that he was looking for also bringing new talent into Guava House, and introducing new clothing. With a new album set to drop early next year and recently joining the Brass Knuckle family it’s showing that 2007 could be his most promising year. Bobby Hooks Bio, Writen by Steve G.
