Where to start?! My name is Seif (pronounced “safeâ€). I’ll to keep this short..(Ha!) I’m the type that once you meet, you’ll never forget.. haha.. usually leaving with a positive impression and effect. I am a freshman at The University of Colorado at Denver (UCD) and am pursuing International Studies with an emphasis on Middle East Concentration; I want to pursue foreign diplomacy. Currently, school encompasses my life and at times its overwhelming, but it will pay off in the end. Try telling that to myself when I am distracted and juggling everything else I shouldn't be..haha
Currently my life is comfortably nestled half way between certainty but overshadowed by the sense of indecision; a true paradox. I know where I am going in life and how to get there but am in no particular rush so I choose to live life in accordance to my own convenience. It is summer right now and I couldn’t be happier! Don’t mind the cliché but life truly is what you make of it, and at this point, I’m making the best of mine! I am somebody defined by my experiences and by the past, the presence is a reflection of this. I have experienced probably more than you could imagine and definitely more than what I would appear to have. I don’t necessarily fit the prototypical mold of someone who’s led a hard life but trust me, it’s the experiences that teach you and further strengthen your character. I am a very outgoing person and I love to have fun. Catch me some where maybe at a party or just hanging out and you’ll discover that I am usually the loudest and craziest..often the center of attention (even if I don’t want to be) but self- control is a virtue I am familiar with. I am spontaneous and very random but I live for such hilarity. Rarely am I seen in a bad mood.. I have extreme tolerance and patience and it’s pretty damn hard to make me mad, so if I am mad, someone must have done a lot to provoke me.. Trust me. I love and am always smiling and laughing.. great natural remedies.. I love to joke around with people and just have a good time.
I’ve seen life from multiple perspectives and my viewpoints have transformed significantly because of particular experiences I have. Recently I visited Northern Ireland and it altered my perceptions on very sensitive issues such as politics and religion and provided me with a global perspective on a lot of issues. It also reinforced my ambitions to really make a difference in the world as generic as it may seem. I was born a third-world society plagued by poverty and corruption, and though fortunate enough to not directly experience it, life in Algeria has taught me true value of appreciation and compassion. Hence, why I want to make an impact in the world around me, to directly “pay it forward.†I am hopefully going to Palestine this summer to further examine the conflict and understand its complexity.
I have insatiable ambitions and curiosities of the world around me. I absolutely love to learn. I may not strike you as a nerd, but I’m definitely a book worm! Haha. I believe everyday is filled with new learning experiences because life is a just one large exploration and journey.
My friends know this better than anyone but once someone brings into discussion politics or religion or any societal issue, I naturally throw in my 2 cents and am infamous for long lectures of what I think is wrong with society. Haha, little political sermons. But I don’t want to be the type to just rant and rave but to actually change. Revolution is Resolution and that’s the philosophy I will define my future by.This is where I talk about other people and not just me. Friends and family have such significance in my life and are held in extremely high positions. They keep me going and are my motivation and inspiration. They are my balance in life because without them, I would be in a deep abyss. Shout outs to Triple S; my best friends, my brothers; Sean and Steffan. When together, our presence is definitely known and shown. Haha.
I think I have said more than enough, and regressing back to the beginning, if you knew me, you sure wouldn’t forget me, and if you don’t know me, I hope you’ll get the opportunity to.
