Riviera - (RIP 2004 - 2007)

OVER AND OUT MOTHERFUCKERS

About Me

It is with great regret that Riviera have decided to call it a day.
We came to our decision late last week at rehearsal after a meeting between members.
We all felt it was the best thing to do as we all want different things in a band and were all prepared to put in different levels of commitment to make it work. Some of us have careers that are becoming too hard to manage with the band. Some of us are becoming parents in the near future and some of us see a different musical path than what we were on with Riviera.
We felt it was better to end it while things were good for us personally rather than try and force something that probabaly wouldn't have worked out in the long run. Quitting while you are ahead is probably the best way to put it.
Please understand that there is absolutely no negative feelings or animosity between any of us due to this split. We are all still mates and will continue to be outside and after the band. Some of the members have already started new projects.
Riviera would like to thank any band we have ever played with and all of our friends, family and most importantly fans for the support over the years.
We would also like to personally thank in no particular order - Paul our merch guy for his loyalty and help over the last year or so, Stevie for making us sound half decent since this year. All of the interstate promoters, bands and venues who helped us out on tour - Kath from Adelaide, Chase Manhattan and Forgiven Rival from Melbourne, Eight Shock Music from Canberra and a big thanks for the endless hospitality from Anthony and the Lights Out Berlin/Safe Hands boys and crew. Thanks to our girlfriends / wives for the support and love - Jane, Sharna, Samara, Rhianna and Katelyn. Our families for the support and love over the years. Also, our first singer Chay Adams - you were part of us for 2 years and we thank you for the time you gave us. Kyle from Scenekid for helping us out with shows. Peta and the Maitland Crew for being awesome to us. Paul from Kill the Music / The Paper and the Plane for his help with promo and blurbs in Rave and just generally supporting the scene we are involved with. Rob from BluePrint Music for being awesome to us. Local bands that we became friends with over the years - A Year to Remember, Amity Affliction, Say Nothing, Mary Magdalene and the list goes on and on. All the peeps on our street team that helped out with handing out flyers. Anyone who paid to see us play or bought something to show their support. We could go on but it would not be possible to thank everyone who has supported us so we will ask anyone who we may have missed to accept our gratitude and sincerest thanks for their help.
Riviera's last shows will all be QLD shows.
Details are below - we would love to see you all there to hang out one last time and party on riteously with us!
September 8 @ Princess Theatre w/ A Year to Remember and The Scissor File - $12 Entry pre-sold. Tix on sale @ Kill the Music, Skinnys and Rocking Horse Records now.
