Welcome to Mic Life DC, the District of Columbia's premier source for microphone culture. Microphone culture is defined as a composite of art forms used to convey artistry, entertainment, and activism by means of live performances where the microphone is the common element (spoken word/poetry, hip-hop, comedy, and vocal performances). In the coming months, we will be debuting the newest edition to entertainment reporting in DC, Mic Life Magazine. In it you will find interesting articles, dynamic photography, and listings and information on where to go and what to do as it relates to microphone culture. We are asking all DC poets, emcees, comedians, and vocalists to add us to your list. As well, we are in the process of building a staff in the Washington, DC area.
