Joe Cleere
As a band we believe that quality of expression is of the utmost importance. To us, music should be emotional communication, telling stories, teaching lessons, having fun, but most of all a gift from the present to the future. Rather than climbing on the back of this months fad.
We are here for the long haul. For this album, the next and the next after that. We also agree, with the 25 million fans that crashed the Led Zeppelin site this year in search of concert tickets, in that good quality, timeless music has to return in our era.
Joe Cleere, as a music artist has been travelling a long route to hopeful success. Cleere picked up guitar at 11 years old and played his first gig at 12, under the act "Joe plays Jimmy (Hendrix)". At just fourteen Joe recorded his first EP in a friend’s studio in Finland. Subsequently a song from this disc, "How Does It Feel", entered the final of the Jacobs 2Fm Song Contest 2001. The contest was aired live on 2fm from Vicar ST, Dublin.
Having received a taste for the music world Cleere, kept working hard on improving his song writing, singing and musicianship. He also started building a recording studio. Two years later at 16 Joe was back in the 2fm song contest final 2003, this time with a song called "All the Same".
After leaving Cert Joe decided to study a degree in PR & Communications at IT Carlow. His first year in college saw him winning the National IT Song Factor 2005. This was then followed by Cleere and his band winning the 2fm song contest 2006 of which funded the completion of his home recording studio now named "Fretless Records".
Now 21 Joe Cleere has just graduated college with an honours degree, is in the final stages of completing his album and is working hard paving the way for a long awaited full time career in music for both himself and his band.
