About Me

Hi, I'm Mellina. I'm 18 and I'm a political science student at Red Deer College in Red Deer, Alberta. Eventually I want to get into journalism, or maybe law--I'm basically deciding between the two. I'm a pretty happy person. I'm also pretty laid-back and easygoing most of the time. I'm a little bit of a hermit--for the most part I study, read, listen to music and don't get a lot else done. I kinda like to chill out and stay home most of the time, which is sort of sad for a college student I guess, but oh well. I'm not afraid to make a fool of myself once in a while, even though sometimes I think I should be. Politics are very important to me and it's also just a lot of fun. Other than that I love reading, which I do a lot of, drinking tea, playing my guitar when I get the time, chilling with my friends, and doing some extracurricular stuff, which reminds me of the RDC Poli Sci Society, which is something you should check out. Its a bunch of students, including me, doing what we can to raise political awareness around campus and wherever else we show up. It's a good time. So anyway, that's a little about me, as you can see by my pictures I'm also a little ridiculous at times.

Mostly I like laid-back, chill-out type music. (This list changes a lot, by the way.)

Some of my favorites are To Kill a Mockingbird (Harper Lee), My Name is Asher Lev (Chaim Potok), Watership Down (Richard Adams), Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance (Richard Pirsig), Jane Eyre (Charlotte Bronte), Frankenstein (Mary Shelley). Other than that mostly non-fiction, especially to do with politics. *edit* Lately I've been reading everything I can get my hands on--Wuthering Heights (Emily Bronte), The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (Ann Brashares), and Symposium (Plato) to name a few.
