About Me

The Blackstone is a live music venue, arts space and restaurant in the Hope Village mill complex in Pawtucket, R.I., just over the Providence line. We've been closed since last October while we moved from our old location in Cumberland, R.I., and are reopening in June.
We welcome talent from across the U.S. and around the world, with special support for promising unsigned R.I. and Mass. bands and solo artists, but also opportunities for established, label-backed acts.
Don't miss our Open House/Summer Kickoff Concert on SATURDAY, JUNE 30 from 3 to 10pm, in the courtyard of Hope Village, featuring Mark Cutler/The Dino Club, Spogga, Becky Chace, Mike Sahagian & more - FREE!
We are now booking and scheduling special events and functions in the summer and fall. E-mail us for more info or, to fill out a booking form, visit our main site at www.blackstoneclub.com .

Walls are going up

Some more pictures for you... these were shot Friday morning.  By the day's end, they'd put up quite a bit of the sheet rock, though a lot of the walls are still skeletons.  We also have the...

Construction is starting

So after a long wait, and lots and lots of time spent at the drawing board (that would be John, official architect of the new 'Stone), construction is starting in the new space.  Our windows were...

The Blackstone is HIRING

We're not quite ready to open, but in preparation for May, we're beginning to recruit.  Because the new Blackstone is going to be so different from the old one, we need both a lot more staff, and...

Pictures of the new space

As promised a long time ago, photos of our new space, now actually a couple of weeks old, but still fairly up-to-date.  Consider these the "before" pictures -- though this already reflects the fi...

We're famous

Or something like that...Two front-page stories in less than one week in the Pawtucket Times, and yes, the good news they reported -- we've got our zoning approval!  Not unexpected, but still an ...

Getting closer...

Renovations to our new space have begun, though some important parts have to wait until we've gone through the permitting process.  But we have our lease in place, pretty detailed plans for the d...

Expect delays...

Sorry to have to report this, but it's going to take us a bit longer to reopen than we'd expected.  We had a very narrow timeframe to pull off a Nov/Dec reopening, and we were delayed by an unsuc...

A totally nutty finale...

So it's over... the Blackstone in Cumberland has ceased to exist.  We served our last drinks shortly after 9 p.m. on Saturday, packed what remained of our stuff -- including, unbelievably, just a...

We are preparing to move.  Can't give you details on the new location till everything's signed and completed, but expect to see us a lot closer to Providence... and if all goes well, in an awesom...
