About Me

The Earth Day Entertainment Committee (E..hanks you for your interest in performing for Earth Day! We'll have a new application up for you soon, and let you know the deadline for applying etc. Stayed tuned!This committee is responsible for all entertainment on the Peace Park Stage and the 7th Street Stage.
The Peace Park Stage is broadcast live on KOPN radio 89.5 fm.
The EDEC looks for and chooses talent who fit these criteria:
* able to perform on chosen date (tba), or on the follow up rain date.
* will perform for free
* will utilize original material or cover songs, perform theater acts, read poems, etc. emphasizing environmental themes
* show up one hour before scheduled set time to unload necessary equipment, check in with the EDEC and its support staff, re-park if necessary, and cheer on the performers playing before your performance
* loan use of name for publicity purposes
* appear on KOPN if asked and as my schedule allows
* courteously adhere to the family-friendly atmosphere of this festival with show content, introductory comments, and stage behavior
* and notify the EDEC of any changes to stage plot, bio, contact info, and websites that may occur between now and the tba 2008 Earthday date.

We primarily were looking for talent from mid-Missouri, but have included acts from all over the state. In 2006, the committee chose to have a headliner from Brooklyn, NY that reside part-time in Missouri.If you are interested in volunteering for Earth Day, we are currently seeking people to help as stagehands and other areas. If you specialize or prefer doing something specific, please feel free to mention that in your note. We are all volunteers, and can't pull off this annual family day without your help! Please consider signing up for an hour or more.
