Sam Paganini

Samuel (Sam) Paganini was born in Vittorio Veneto (TV) on September 27, 1972. Already from an early age Sam showed a passion for music and became highly skilful at playing both the drums and the guitar.From the age of 15 Sam played for various local rock bands and concurrently gained extensive experience as a DJ in clubs in the Veneto area, concentrating on new and alternative music rather than the mainstream, commercial ‘radiophonic’ genre. Whilst working as a DJ, Sam developed an interest for electronic music and for technical recording. As a result of this, he gained a particularly strong command of the piano and was contacted by Gianfranco Bortolotti from ‘Media Records’ in 1993 after he had become interested in one of Sam’s demos. Media Records engaged Sam in the production of numerous recordings, such as the CD of Cappella Nr. 1, which was very successful all over Europe.Following his cooperation with ‘Media Studios Recording’, Sam established his own studio, ‘Cellar Rock Studio’ in 1996 and was therefore able to experiment with sounds and to seek a new route for his music, which complimented better his particular taste and style in music.As a result of the creative freedom he enjoyed by running his own studio, Sam became Nr. 1 in the English club chart with the 1998 instrumental composition ‘Zoe’ under the title ‘Paganini Traxx’, under an independent label. This record was highly rated and considered to be one of the best Italian records coming from the specialized press. ‘Zoe’ was released all over Europe by Sony and was later remixed by Timo Maas.From 2000 and onwards, Sam released and published several of his other productions, but he never gave up on his passion for live music and carried on playing the drums in bands like ‘Flower Power’ and later ‘Bambini Battivi’.Presently, Sam expresses his passion for music by taking part in a wide variety of music-related activities. His broad preference for music styles and genres has lead to Sam working with the old funk and rock of the 60s and 70s, as well as electronic music of the 80s, house and contemporary electronic music. He works in collaboration with various record labels, plays the drums at live concerts and he is actively working as a DJ.
