Hello there, my name is Davide Modolo, was born and still live in a greyish and not so exciting industrial town situated in the North East part of Italy , near Venice, for those who knows little about Italian geography.
A place of contradictions as many others I suppose, where on a sunny day in the now not so near 1980s, a singer of a well known local punk band which name is Tampax, (yes that stuff), took the families with kids, dogs and all that by surprise when he started swearing at good in that special way that only Italian people can do. So what’s wrong with that? Well the swearing was to denounce the limited space that the right-wing conservative local authority used to allocate to creative stuff like music and the arts, especially those seeing by them as ‘not conventional’. And here is the contradiction; now 20 and a bit years later the same ‘cheap revolutionary’ singer is actually part of the problem with no solutions, since he now works for the art council but don’t give a fuck about providing spaces for creative elements which think ‘out of the box’. What he and his mates think is to monopolize the few spaces available and divert there all the cash that is available to them…bloody revolutionary!!!!!
That just to give you a bit of background information about the infertile environment which I grew up into.
But lets move on…My trip into Djing started just after the Acid-House tornado hit Italy, in January 1990 to be very precise, when curious to see what all that was about, went in a now ‘cult’ club called ‘Movida’ and was struck by the music that was played there.
I was especially fascinated by the set played by Andrea Gemolotto. Yes! finally not the usual arid acid sound usually heard on the radio, but a powerful mix of EBM, electronic, acid and more experimental sounds, a fine blend which awakened my artistic self, so got down to a local music shop and got myself a couple of 1210 and a mixer to set myself on a long experiential journey into an ocean of waves, sounds and emotions, which still sees no land on the horizon. But what I’m I looking for? The goddess of music wisdom?
I’ve always though of myself as a Dj best suited for playing in Clubs, where I generally tend to play music which is based on my own musical taste, and since my musical taste is strongly influenced by what I hear around as well as by how I feel in that moment in time, what I play turns out to be very specific to that moment and place, if it make sense.
I’m very attracted by what ‘sounds fresh and new’ and love to research new sounds, that’s why I started by plying Acid house and Techno, then went down the Trip Hop and Big Beat road, then turned into the Acid Jazz and Downtempo avenue, to temporarily stop at he traffic light to enjoy the Nu Skool Breaks…the journey continue….------------------------------------------------

ao Piacere, mi chiamo Modolo Davide, sono nato e vivo attualmente a Pordenone, grigiotta città industriale del nord est, divenuta provincia grazie agli stabilimenti della zanussi e della savio, dove la cultura del lavoro .. lecita, un po' meno quella del tempo libero!!!
Dove negli anni ottanta, un cantante di un noto gruppo punk che si chiamava come gli assorbenti interni per donne, in un splendido pomeriggio soleggiato, nel parco Galvani affollato di giovani e famiglie, cantava..urlava con tutta la sua rabbia al pubblico, una canzone fatta per lo più di bestemmie e parolacce, il tutto per denunciare pubblicamente la carenza di spazi per i giovani.
N.B. questa persona attualmente è consulente del comune,ma i problemi sono rimasti, anzi peggiorati!!!!!!!

La mia attivit.. artistica inizia pochi anni dopo l'arrivo in Italia dell'Acid-house, gennaio 1990, per curiosità entrai in un locale divenuto poi storico, il Movida, e rimasi folgorato dalla musica che stavano "suonando-mixando" soprattutto durante il set del mitico Andrea Gemolotto, non era la solita acid che si sentiva alla radio,ma un mix potentissimo di EBM, elettronica, acid e sperimentale, il tutto sapientemente miscelato in una maniera assolutamente fluida, capii da subito le potenzialit.. di quella nuova musica, e quello che poteva farci un disc jokey.
Nel 1992 decisi di dare sfogo alle mie passioni, acquistai i miei primi technics 1210 ed un mixer, ed iniziai quel lungo sentiero che ancora sto percorrendo, dove sto andando?

Mi sono sempre definito un dj da club, o meglio,colui che propone una selezione basata sul proprio gusto musicale personale,per questo molte volte ho cambiato genere, ascolto e ripropongo quello che maggiormente mi colpisce in quel periodo o momento.
Sono terribilmente attratto dalla ricerca del nuovo, ho iniziato con l'acid house..techno, sono passato per il trip hop e la big beat, l'acid jazz e la downtempo, e adesso sono alle prese con break beat e nu skool breaks.
