MyHotComments :: HotFreeLayoutsBorn and Bred in the Cold North. Pit River, Wintu Nation and Gwich'in Nation Baby.... and my people, very near and dear to my heart. Prior to the work I do now.. I was just a wild Gwich'in, you know, just a village kid. I lived in the Vill, I drove fast machines, I climbed mountains, and I was a tomboy. We'd shoot our gunz (we are a hunting culture) dog mushing, snoshoeing, skiiing into the wild anytime, cross country travel in the dead of winter by snowmachine, and of course I loved our fiddle dances! If you've ever seen Gwich'in Jig--you know what I'm talking about... Dachanlee is my heart, my people and my family always camped there, and it is a place I love. Nowadays, I just work all the time, seems like I'm chained to this desk lately. Never thought I'd be the type, but here I am. I feel that my greatest accomplishment is being a mommy and I am home with my two sweet babies as much as possible; except when I'm on the road, which in and of itself is no joke all the time... My family and my babies are my pride and joy. I work for the common good of all: Environmental Justice/Human Rights/Indigenous Rights/Sacred Sites...I've been on this path for years now, seeking justice for my people for the benefit of future generations. I am very opinionated, I am stubborn as hell, and if I believe in something, or I feel I am right on something, I will fight for it all the way. My bottom line is: when we have left this world will we have walked softly or left tracks?..

Politics and all that good stuff; camping; ceremony; culture; reading; writing...I love going to the beach at sunset on the west coast. It is so beautiful. My new hobby...If I'm not on the coast then climbing a mountain will do or even just walking by the river.

I like all music from Country to Classical; even some hip hop I'll always be partial to: Native Music (all kinds, even my own voice aye!); Pink Floyd; Rolling Stones; Bad Company; Heart; Fleetwood Mac; Bob Marley; Bob Seger; The Eagles; Blue Rodeo...OLD SCHOOL

Movies:

OK, for all your ROMANTICS out there, here is a good one...P.S I LOVE YOU...I swear, you will probably cry...Loved it! The ones that I can watch over and over and never tire of are: Once Were Warriors; Dance me outside; skins; Smoke Signals; Thunderheart; pow wow highway; windwalker; walks far woman; clearcut...Of Course the movies of my peeps: The Dispossessed; 47 cents an Acre and the Documentaries that I helped with or starred in too: Oil on Ice; Homeland; Thunderstorm: America's Last Frontier; Drumbeat for Mother Earth and Lastly all the classics like: The Godfather (All three) Scarface; Casino and Good Fellas of course! My favorite Chick Flicks are Joy Luck Club; How to lose a guy in ten days; My Big Fat Greek Wedding; and Steel Magnolias...

Television:

Greys Anatomy, Desperate Housewives...(damn the sag writers strike!) I enjoy drama/romantic comedy shows...Watching these shows is a new thing to me...the more drama drama the better.

Books:
