COLAPSO

Colapso es una banda de Death Metal que surge a finales del 2003 con una propuesta propia tanto musical como líricamente que en el transcurso de los últimos años ha sabido ganarse a un público y ha tenido la oportunidad de subirse a escenarios muy importantes y compartir escena con muchas de las principales bandas del Ecuador y con bandas internacionales de primer orden. La banda comenzó como iniciativa de Diego Rojas (ex-Letal Rake), y Carlos Rodriguez (Descomunal), José Romero (ex-Kangagua) y David Coloma (ex-Letal Rake) quien saldría de la banda al emigrar del país. La banda rápidamente surge como un híbrido que logra ubicarse en los gustos tanto de la escena metal tradicional, como en la escena hardcore quiteña. La banda casi de inmediato empieza a presentar su propuesta en importantes festivales extremos en ciudades como San Gabriel (Carchi) y en el Lago San Pablo (Imbabura), así como en diversas tocadas en su natal Quito, y paralelamente a esto grabó el demo “Cerca del abismo”, todas estas con una gran aceptación por parte del público. Es que la combinación harmoniosa de influencias metaleras (Colapso identifica bastamente su sonido con el de bandas como (At the Gates, Vehemence, Dimension Zero, In Flames) con una actitud hardcore, permite a Colapso hacer lo que muy pocas bandas han podido en la escena pesada de Ecuador: llegar contundentemente a públicos tradicionalmente segregados entre si. Eventualmente se suman a las filas el guitarrista Mauro Pazmiño (ex-Veda) y Santiago Fernandez (ex-Entre Cenizas). El camino para que Colapso solidifique su formación no ha sido sencillo, pero ha permitido a la banda nutrirse del talento he inspiración de grandes músicos y amigos como David Coloma (Letal Rake), Mauricio Vega (Sarcoma) William Mena (Kangagua), y Alejo Pineda (Funda-Mental). De ahí hasta hoy Colapso ha trabajado incesantemente por llegar con su música a la mayor cantidad de gente, con un promedio de una tocada por mes, donde se incluyen varias presentaciones en Ambato (incluyendo su participación en el FestivalFFF 2007 ante 3000 personas junto a bandas de México y Colombia), Guayaquil, Portoviejo, Cuenca, Ibarra, Manta, haber participado en el festival “Ímpetu 2005”, “Quitu Raymi 2006”, “Festival de la Diversidad y Tolerancia 2006 y 2007”, “La Fete de la Musique 2007” y el “Quitofest 2007”, el festival mas grande del país; y haber taloneado a las legendarias bandas brasileñas “Korzus”, “Confronto”, y “Paura”; desde Mexico “Anton”; desde Italia “The Orange Man Theory”; desde EEUU “Madball”, “Darkest Hour”, y “The Black Dahlia Murder”. “DESPUÉS DEL DOLOR”, su primera placa, en conjunto con los Brasileños PAURA, tuvo su lanzamiento el 28 de Julio del 2007, en un evento con un cartel de lujo (Total Death, Epidemia, Descomunal, Sarcoma, Kanhiwara) con mas de 300 asistentes. La trayectoria de Colapso da testimonio del proceso atravezado por la banda en lo que lleva de existencia, y han dejado en claro que Colapso es una banda que se para sobre sus propios pies y recorre su propio camino. Colapso siempre se ha tratado de correr el riesgo, y estar dispuesto a todo. Ahora Colapso prepará su primer disco de larga duración, con temas que reflejan evolución y cambio, mientras la esencia se mantiene. Esten pendientes, que vamos a otro nivel. Colapso is a Death Metal band that comes together late 2003 with its own musical and lyrical identity, which has been able to gain a following and has had the opportunity of sharing the stage with many of the most important bands of Ecuador, and with first rate international bands. The band first started as an initiative of Diego Rojas, Carlos Rodriguez, José Romero, and David Coloma who would have to leave the band and the country. The band quickly rises as a hybrid which gets attention from both the traditional Metal scene, as well as the Hardcore scene. Then the band began to introduce its music to people in important extreme festivals in cities such as San Gabriel (Carchi) and Lake San Pablo (Imbabura), as well as in several gigs in their hometown of Quito, and at the same time recorded and released the "Cerca del Abismo" demo, all of which was very positively recieved. The harmonious mix of Metal influences (At the Gates, Vehemence, Dimension Zero, In Flames) with a Hardcore attitude, allows Colapso to do what very few bands have been able to do in the heavy music scene of Ecuador: to reach across traditionally segregated audiences. In time, the ranks of Colapso have been filled by Mauro Pazmiño, and Santiago Fernandez. The way for Colapso to get a stable lineup has not been easy, but has allowed the band to be nurtured by the talent and inspiration of great musicians and friends such as David Coloma, Mauricio Vega (Sarcoma), William Mena, and Alejo Pineda (Funda-Mental). Until now Colapso has incessantly worked to get their music heard by as many people as possible, with shows in Ambato (including playing at the Festivalfff 2007), Guayaquil, Portoviejo, Cuenca, Ibarra, Manta, “Ímpetu 2005”, “Quitu Raymi 2006”, “Festival de la Diversidad y Tolerancia 2006 y 2007”, “La Fete de la Musique 2007” and “Quitofest 2007”, the largest festival in the country; and having opened for great bands such as “Korzus”, “Confronto”, and “Paura” from Brazil; from Mexico, “Anton”; from Italy, “The Orange Man Theory”; from the US, “Madball”, “Darkest Hour”, and “The Black Dahlia Murder”. “DESPUÉS DEL DOLOR”, Colapso's first imprint, along PAURA from Brazil, was released on July 28th, 2007, in what was quite a memorable event. The trajectory of Colapso testifies to the process that the band has undergone in its existence, and has established Colapso as a band standing on its own two feet and treading its own path. Now Colapso readies what will be its first full length release, writing songs that reflect evolution and change, while the esence remains. Stay tuned, because we are going to another level.
